Fall sports kick off tomorrow. New educator meeting later this week; teachers and staff show up (officially) next week. 27th start to the school year for me and still get jitters this time of year. Educators have had a rough go lately but still can’t imagine doing anything else!

Turning off email notifications on my phone and watch is a small hack that’s lowered my stress and anxiety levels in a big way, especially on nights and weekends. And, I don’t feel any less effective as an educator. Give it a try.

Spent the better part of the last 2 weeks working with, learning with, and socializing a bit with our building leaders and I can’t imagine a stronger group of leaders than the ones we have in Fort Zumwalt. We’re ready for 2023-24. It’s going to be the best year!

Our FZ Education Foundation has added to their efforts & awarded current NMS para Shameka Binns w/the inaugural GYOT award. The Foundation will provide tuition assistance to Shameka so she can earn her teaching certificate. Surprised her at the bowling alley! What a great day!

4+ years ago at District Office a teammate spent a little bit of extra time with a teacher who was working through a problem. Nothing extraordinary-just a little care, compassion, & a listening ear. Ever since, we get a delivery of homemade apple pie and ice cream twice a year.
