Brodie came in with zero qualifications/experience with talent evaluation, and a clear willingness to do the Wilpon's bidding. He has ran this team in Jeff Wilpon's image, and that's his biggest wart of all.
I truly hated the idea of giving up Kelenic and Dunn for anyone let alone a closer no matter who it was... but to dislike the guy as many Mets fans do after less than 4 months into his 1st season is laughable

I sure hope the Mets get one of the big boys for third base, but you also don't trade Steven Matz at this point in the game to clear rotation space for Jake Arrieta either. The rotation as is, is more on par with the Phillies and Nats, than the Dodgers, Padres or even Braves.

Juan Soto is a generational hitter, but his lack of ability to play a premium defensive position will always prevent him from being as great as Mike Trout. Tomas Nido has saved more defensive runs this year than Juan Soto has his whole career.

Many people will say no way the Mets should draft a catcher in the 1st rd. with Alvarez coming fast, but with depth at the position being so slim and the DH coming, you have to look at some of these names and still go BPA at 11 and 14.
It's an exceptionally strong year for catchers in the 2022 MLB Draft. A few of these guys have top-of-the-scale throwing arms. Could be as many as four or five players selected on day one.
