Around this time 2yrs ago my rank was plummeting and I made the difficult decision to wildcard early against the advice of many others.
GW21 WC took me from 623k to a 14k finish.
Moral of the story is that it can work, but requires a lot of planning and hits around dgws/blanks.

I agree that a good bench is essential over the Christmas period. A good bench isn't necessarily an expensive bench however.
For example; Wan-Bissaka (4.2), Bennett (4.2), Camarasa (4.5) is a very strong bench which happens to cost next to nothing.

Why hits are worth it for blank GW31+33 with FH32 strategy.
As it has been mentioned many times if you get 4pts over 2 games you break even. That's only 2 ppg - appearance points alone. A player with 4ppg should, on average, pay off the hit in just 1 game.

So it appears that the shot on target +2 bps is not being awarded from a big chance missed (-3 bps).
Unless they have forgotten to add it, this has some big implications for bonus.
Now we have a system where a borderline big chance is saved, resulting in a 5 bps swing.
