I’m a secondary school teacher and today we had an FPL lunchtime club for the first time ever.
7 kids turned up to talk transfers, formation and strategies and it was the highlight of my day.
It’s been an exciting day at school because FPL Lunch Club now has a display board so managers can check their rank in the MOTW and MOTM competitions. Proud to say we’re up to 111 students and teachers in the league and the banter is fierce!
#FPLlunchclub
FPL lunch club was brilliant today, kids & staff chatting about players & transfers, now up to 57 teachers & pupils in the school mini league.
But I’m facing a really good Year 7 in the head to head this week, if I lose I won’t be able to show my face at the club for a while 😬
Absolute scenes at FPL lunch club today when kids looked at their teams and realised that lots of their players didn’t have a match.
Hits were flying, so expect price rises tonight, sorry 😬
I opened this Twitter account in December so that my other account (which has 20,000+ followers) wasn’t overwhelmed by FPL chat.
And between you and me, I already prefer the tweets, support and banter of the FPL community, it’s amazing.
The other account, meh 🤷♀️
As a newbie I started FPL outside the top 3 million places. But because of everything I’ve learned on FPL Twitter, last week I jumped 200,000 places and I’m hoping to be in the top 500k soon.
And more importantly I’m top of my work mini-league 🎉
98 kids & staff now in the school mini league.
New head to head league set up today.
Manager of the week/Manager of the month competitions established, prizes for the winners.
25+ kids coming to FPL club each week.
Absolutely FIERCE banter on the corridors.
HIGHLIGHT OF MY WEEK!
Just been sent this Free Hit team with Salah on the bench, and I’m reminded of my mum’s advice that if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all 🤐
So I’ve convinced myself that the managers who did well this week are terrible at the game, and those who did badly are good at the game but were unlucky.
The problem with setting up an FPL school mini league, is that if you have the week from hell (29 points) you know that every kid in the league who got more points is coming for you tomorrow.
Year 7 parent’s evening tonight.
Several conversations were less about how the kid was doing at school and more about how much they enjoyed FPL lunch club.
Last Thursday I showed FPL lunch club my wildcard team and they ripped it to shreds.
Then it got the highest gameweek score in the school league with 73 points (Thanks Mo) and I am going to make sure they know all about it at club tomorrow.
If you’re having a bad start to the season, don’t panic, more than 31 weeks until the final results. You can catch up!
If you’re having a great start to the season, congratulations! Keep going for a high OR at the end of the year.
If you’re me, delete the app.
It’s terrible 😬
Yesterday at school, a kid from FPL lunch club gave me grief on the corridor because I’d triple captained Haaland and he’d blanked.
So tonight Erling, I need goals or I can’t go back to school tomorrow and I’ll need to find a new job.
So at FPL lunch club today we had ‘manager interviews’.
Kids were interviewed about their decisions last week, captaincy & transfers.
Honestly, it was brilliant.
And yes I did mention several times in my interview that I had the highest score in the school league last week 🎉
There are now 109 teams in my school’s pupil/teacher FPL mini league.
And as of yesterday, I’M TOP OF THE LEAGUE!
It may well be mentioned a few times at FPL lunch club on Thursday.
And to literally any kid that’s passing on the corridor.
Met a new Year 10 class today, one kid who’d seen the
@ManCity
flag in my classroom assumed I was a glory supporter and asked me to name a starting 11.
I gave him the names of 22 players, discussed Pep’s back operation, and that shut him up.
There are now 86 kids and teachers in our school mini league, and the banter on the corridors is fierce!
Having a Manager of the Week and Manager of the Month competition is really helping to keep them engaged and bring in new players.
Aiming for 100 managers by Christmas!
A friend introduced me to this game a few years ago.
And whether my FPL team is doing well or not, I’m glad to be part of it each week.
So thank you to the FPL community for the advice and the banter, I appreciate it all 🙏
Sending thoughts and prayers to the Haaland sellers, who spread the extra money around and now can’t get him back for Bournemouth at home without taking a -8.
The best thing about having a school FPL mini league is that it allows teachers and pupils to build positive relationships outside the classroom.
Because in schools, the relationships between teachers and pupils are everything.
At FPL club today, and it turns out that the kids don’t care about OR, they’re saving their triple captain chip for the week they’re up against me in the head to head league.
I’m doomed.
So just to clarify, I can go to work, I can go shopping, I can go to a place of worship, I can go to the cinema, I can go for a meal out, I can go to the pub, I can go clubbing, BUT I can’t watch football.
Big decisions for the kids in FPL lunch club this week.
They’re torn between being calm & ignoring flagged players in their team or taking a -8 (or more) to transfer them out.
Could be significant changes in the school mini league as a result.
I’m optimistic of a green arrow 🤞
So pleased that this week we’ve got two girls at the top of the Manager of the Month competition in our school mini league, and a girl who won Manager of the Week.

Good start for my team, and after only getting 31 points in total last week, there’s a chance I can walk into FPL lunch club on Thursday with my head held high 🤞
If your score this week is terrible (and mine is) don’t panic yourself into a wildcard or a minus 12.
It was a rogue week, have the courage to stick with your well researched choices. 👍
So the plan for defenders is to get the cheapest you can, on the basis that clean sheets are almost impossible this year.
Spend the money on the mids and forwards instead.
If you’re sat watching two teams you don’t care about because you’re hoping that one of those sides keeps a clean sheet, then you need to have a word with yourself*.
*Yes I’m one of those people.
The template was strong at FPL Lunch Club today, with almost everyone free hitting, apart from me 😬
Very jealous of the year 8 Manager of the Week who had 98 (-4) this week and a gameweek rank of 1,200 😱
All down to my great advice obviously!
