Congrats to Caleb Williams. 9th USC guy to win the Heisman. Incredible. And 8/9 have never killed anybody. But 2 murders for every 9 trophies is still the highest percentage of murders per Heisman in the Pac-12
Just a reminder that coastal Carolinas center is listed at 5’9 300 and is probably shorter and heavier in reality. He’s the best athlete in d-1 sports IMO
In all seriousness, it's an interesting moment. These leagues that for 100+ years villainized sports betting have now openly embraced it ... except they still want/expect the players to have nothing to do with it. Quite a balancing act.
@TylerIAm
Chris Benoit murdered his wife and child before hanging himself in his home gym. He also won a royal rumble and that is why he’s still a hall of famer in my book
Mario Cristobal lost to a true freshman Bo Nix with a senior Justin Herbert. We literally never have to act like a team he coaches is a national championship contender
Quality of loss is literally the dumbest way to determine who goes to a playoff. The point of a playoff isn't to lose to good teams, it's to beat them. Quality of wins is infinitely more important
The thing that makes me the most irrationally angry is when people list fast casual places (5 guys, shake shack, chipotle, etc) w/fast food restaurants. If there isnt a drive thru window at 80% of their locations they arent a fast food restaurant. This isnt ‘nam there are rules
David Shaw was the most successful coach in school history. We should seriously think about naming the field after him. It was also time, so I’m glad he got to be the one to make the decision
Also, Shannon Turley's work can't be overstated. There's a reason Stanford can wear teams out in October and November every year and it's because no one is trained better June-August.
Stanford going into the Coliseum for a night game, huge underdogs, first year head coach from a lower level of college ball,
#14
starting at QB. I've seen this movie before
Big fucking win. On the road. Had to do it in an ugly fight. That's a team that's bought in and scrapping. For a 2 win team to win a knife fight in November says a lot about the character of them. Great fucking win
Could be worse. Helluva year by the Card. Got to watch Bryce Love be the best player in the NCAA. 66 lead a top 15 team in tackles as a NT. Watched Whiteside work. Costello develop. And the OL turn into a monster. 2018 Stanford OL gonna kill kids. We stacked
My 600 page manifesto for Stanford is just run the damn ball from under center repeated Shining style, a couple pics of Toby, some tackle eligible plays, and youtube links to dudes carrying refrigerators in world strongest man contests
This game was closer than the score. Honestly, I'm encouraged about the team. We look so much better than last year. Everything that could go wrong went wrong tonight. Would rather have this game vs Clemson where winning was always gonna be tough as opposed to Wake, Cal, or SJSU
Can't wait for Herm Edwards to be blown away by d-linemen wearing single digit numbers and the clock stopping on first downs. Also there's like a 95% chance he takes the ball first in OT.
Jared Goff is essentially a jugs machine. You can calibrate it to put it wherever you want, you just have to hope that you pointed it at the right receiver before the snap and no one bumps into it after the snap
All preseason football is for sickos, but this cardinals-saints game is for people that get carted around on a gurney and in a mask like Hannibal Lector
The Bowl System was better than everything that has come after it. Better than BCS. Way better than the 4 team playoff. Probably better than a 12 team playoff. Sometimes people would disagree about who the best team was. It was fine and funny and more people felt like champions
Credit where it's due, this team had every reason in the world to quit at halftime and they didn't. Also, prime is gonna fire the DC in locker room. They can't even get 11 guys in the field
Kudos to the Shaw, Anderson, and Bloomgren. I'm not sure any program in the nation gets better throughout the year as much Stanford does every year. Remarkable.
@btrossler
Kurt Warner. Arena league. Backup. Best player in the league. Beat out by Marc Bulger. Placeholder starter that loses his job to 1st overall pick. Beats out top 10 pick and plays at pro bowl level again to secure a place in the hall of fame
UCF is paying their coaches bonuses for a National Title that the school just wants to say they won. Paying the players means all group of 5 teams would drop football because they don't have enough money though
Not as bad as Toby getting screwed. Or Barrett Jones beating David F'n DeCastro for the Outland. Or Caff losing to Henry. Or Ertz losing the Mackey. Or Luck losing to RG-III
@BrianMFloyd
If you haven't spent 100+ hours on Hogville or an equivalent message board I cannot trust you to report on anything more important than lifestyle pieces
Always been embarrassed that
@andy_benoit
wrote for FO but just because he was a shitty writer and "analyst" & his crap brought down the overall quality of the site. But since leaving he's proven to be as clueless about literally every topic as he is football
With the loss of legacy sports media jobs Notre Dame QBs are forced into removing ribs so they can suck themselves off since the national media can't anymore. Sad, but life finds a way
"The Rib is in my fridge...it's well on its way to becoming a necklace...we're a couple weeks out just want to make sure it stays in one piece til then."

@sam_hartman10
had a rib surgically removed last year and tells us he's determined to turn it into a piece of jewelry
Update: For the upcoming 2021-22 admission cycle, Stanford will not require ACT or SAT scores for first year or transfer applicants. Visit for more information.
