Today, we closed the chapter of the Miami-Dade Police Department and opened the chapter of the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office. I am deeply humbled by the trust bestowed upon me as we embark on this new journey. As the Sheriff, I will ensure every corner of this county is safe, establishing an office of the sheriff that reflects and honors the hard work, sacrifice, integrity, and principles of the community I have been entrusted to serve and protect. I am ready to lead as your Miami-Dade County Sheriff.
