@alandavidprice1 from @FasdSalford emphasises the need to look at a broader timeline from conception when considering adversity - taking pre and post natal adversity (PPNA) factors are essential to avoid formulations missing the key aspect of pre natal alcohol exposure. #FASD

Sadly, the data we see here on suicidality and #FASD mirrors that found by the @FAAST_Team Clinical pilot. Rates are significantly elevated in both children & adults, with some countries reporting half of adults with FASD having been suicidal at some point in life.

Powerful insights from adults with #FASD - key messages are individuals want to be heard, understood, accepted and able to express their difficulties/ differences and diagnosis to obtain support - shared aims are independence, obtaining strategies for life to enable this 👏

Alarming findings regarding the use of Fentanyl growing in parts of Europe with a high liklihood of severe teratogenic effects in babies. Different facial features to FAS, but a pattern is emerging about developmental disability. Reaffirms the need to explore prenatal exposures

Very interesting findings in relation to the use of MRI to discriminate #FASD based on reduced volume of grey matter & key marker areas in the brain 🧠.
