I am a bit concerned about the Enugu State Government’s (ENSG) plan to acquire aircraft in 2025. While the idea of boosting the state’s transportation infrastructure and potentially stimulating economic growth is commendable, I question whether the state’s financial position is robust enough to support such an ambitious venture. Unlike Akwa Ibom State, which has demonstrated a capacity to manage and sustain its airline operations through the Ibom Air initiative, Enugu may face significant challenges in entering and sustaining operations in the aviation industry because of the financial wherewithal needed to operate in that space. Aviation is an inherently capital-intensive sector, requiring substantial investment not only in aircraft acquisition but also in maintenance, staff training, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, profitability in the airline industry is often elusive, with thin margins and a high susceptibility to external shocks such as fluctuating fuel prices, currency devaluation, and global economic trends. It typically takes years for an airline to break even, let alone become profitable. Given these realities, it would be prudent for ENSG to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study and prioritize strategic partnerships or joint ventures with established aviation players before committing state resources to this venture. The risks of mismanagement, coupled with the opportunity costs of diverting funds from critical sectors such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure, should not be underestimated. Ultimately, while the vision for an airline may align with long-term development goals, it is essential to ensure that the state’s financial health and broader developmental priorities are not compromised in the process.

@simonateba Would you still consider him an amateur if his shot, aimed at Trump's head, had been successful? It was only due to divine providence that Trump turned slightly, causing the bullet to narrowly miss and graze his ear instead.

Father, I decree and declare that fear dies in my life—fear of failing in life, business, ministry and marriage. I anchor my faith upon the infallibility of God’s Word and the revelation of God. I will not fear, my life is built on the integrity of God and the immutability of His character.
Lift up your voice and pray: Father, I decree and declare that fear dies in my life—fear of failing in life, business, ministry and marriage.
