Yes, adipose tissue can sequester some pollutants, but other pollutants (obesogens) can drive obesity in first place. IMO, the opportunity is to develop liphophilic carriers that can bind to fat-loving toxins and get them out of our bodies for good
Obesity can act as protective against toxins by sequestering pollutants, pesticide, and other lipophilic toxins in adipose tissue so it might be a “rational” adaption to our increasingly bio-hostile environment.
