@megbasham We can benefit and respect our teachers while knowing they are just human. I am a Pastor and know Pastors and it doesn't surprise me at all. People remember the 1 bad thing and forget all the good. Semper Reformanda, especially within our own hearts and our own camp.

This also harkens back to the convoluted pressure placed upon Pastors to be relatable, to make jokes, to be common. People desire their leaders to be holy. Other-worldly. It doesn't matter if they themselves entertain themselves with such common cruelty and abasement at night, on T.V., or if the flashy mega church is growing from pop cultural references intertwined into their modern liturgy. God's people need their Pastors to be like Jesus. The vocation can be lonely because you are called to otherness in Christ.

@eddielarow I find the Book of Common Prayer 1662 morning prayer service to be helpful in that it makes us pray for whomever is in office.
