Meteorologist for FOX 4 NEWS (B.S., M.S., AMS) . Tweets to stay on top of changing weather 24/7.
Is this the REAL me? Without the blue check, even I don't know!
My wife found this experiment but it's true. Large part of our flooding
"A Meteorologist from the University of Reading shows just how long it takes water to soak into parched ground, illustrating why heavy rainfall after a drought can be dangerous and might lead to flash floods"
Three canceled trips later...it's taken me over a year to finally get out to visit!
Thank goodness they are still in good health, and saved a list of 50 things for me to do while I'm here!
Hey folks. We had some big hail in NTX...but not where most people live. And it wasn't as bad as expected (although the timing was what we expected...no apologies to those who expected it EARLIER and cancelled things!)
So, yes...we blew it and we do apologize... Sincerely, yours.
She puts up with me working through vacations and severe weather season, I put up with her two week out of town trials and crazy plaintiffs...
A match made in heaven 😍
We are THANKFUL.
A significant tornado (maybe more than one) hits a major Metropolitan area AFTER DARK and we have no major injuries.
Luck helps. So do timely warnings from the NWS and our media partners (TV, radio). I may work for FOX, but this was certainly a group effort.
Today marks 14 weeks. Of what you ask?
*Working from home
*Making my animals into internet stars
*Never wearing pants!
Like the weather in July, I'm predicting very few changes ahead to A, B, or C 😊
A very special wish to an amazing Tim Ryan ... who has made it 30 years on FOX4, and congrats to me and Chip for surviving over 20 years with Tim!
All the best to the best! (and I'm dead for using his high school pix!)
Alert: Due to a combination of high gen outages typical in April & higher-than-forecasted demand caused by a stalled cold front over TX, ERCOT may enter emergency conditions. We do not expect customer outages. Declaring an emergency would allow us to access additional resources.
Only the THIRD time I've ever stayed downtown due to a storm.
I'll drive on ALMOST anything. Except a sheet of ice!
Stay safe NTX! It gets a bit better tomorrow afternoon and much better this weekend.
Lights! Camera! Action!
Well, not much action. This at 3:30am. As we get ready for "Goodday from home, month five!"
They will be bummed if we ever return to work 😁
Got this reminder from EIGHT years ago when we used to get all our local DFW meteorologists to hang out (ok. all that wanted to show up!)
Some are still here...some have moved on.
Any look familiar?
Thank you to our friends and FOX4 viewers Teresa and Jim for our new face masks...
That arrived JUST IN TIME for our new statewide mandatory mask order! 😷
Penny likes her new friend! LOL
We got .01" instead of .10" ice. We did expect more.
But a thin sheet of ice is still a sheet of ice based on all the wrecks.
There are some humans ANGRY it wasn't worse! Are you mad you still have power? Trees aren't snapped? Car isn't wrecked?
Be happy. You'll live longer :)
Thank you for all your kind thoughts for Penny. A shot of Cytopoint and she's a bit better. Blood work was fine. Not herself, but she hears all your prayers 😇
Before the last of the snow melted, got a beautiful (and rare for north Texas) image of sun dogs PLUS a sun pillar, PLUS a parhelic circle. Usually these pix are common in colder, more northern climates...but not this week! LOL

48 hour "tech support" trip to see mom and dad!
New computer, cell phones...and my wife needed to learn how to crochet 🤪
We say a prayer every year to get the luxury of time together ❤️
The only thing better than the "cool" temps on this late June morning was to see our newest dog Colt loving his life with Penny!
He's truly come so far and proves that even the dog that no one wants in a shelter can become a different dog with a new environment!
Since it's a national holiday, can my feed just go a few hours without "coronavirus" and "politics"?
I would like just animals please, mixed in with an occasional thunderstorm! LOL 🐕🐱🐢⚡️
Had to deal with an angry viewer who hated me AND Frederick today.
Claimed tortoises (and all reptiles) are incapable of affection.
Sorry dude, but while they may not lick you like a dog or jump on your lap, they are 100% capable of showing affection to an owner. 🐢
This will be our first BIG dog ever. He's a Lab/Boxer/Chow mix (named COLT) who was rescued from a hoarding situation a few months ago. He's finishing heartworm treatment with his foster, and seems to get along with everyone!
Today was a "test" and he passed with flying colors!
For those whining to "Tell it to Tim" how meteorologists blew Wednesday's forecasts out of proportion? ELEVEN TORNADOES. Worst here all year.
With no injuries or loss of life due to all the coverage and advanced notice? I'll say we ALL did the jobs we are paid to do.
#noapology

Well, the biopsy showed it's cancer...
AND we are booked so we can't cut it out until November. 🙄
(No, it's not life threatening, but still...)
But thanks to those who pushed me to check it out!
Yes, we bought a generator today.
We almost lost him in the cold last year and while this upcoming event won't be as cold, last as long as last year, or break records...
Considering ERCOT had issues early January when it was "kinda" cold...they don't exude confidence. JMHO
We actually blew it today. Turned out several degrees warmer than we forecast with rapid snow melt and full sun! The upside?! first time we didn't hear a SINGLE complaint! 🤣
HR still won't let me near Tim, but a virtual hug is in order! LOL.
As life slowly returns to normal, we are back together again until "death do us part " 🤣🤣
Whether you loved him or not, I'll miss him.
I've never met an anchor yet that didn't give the meteorologist grief on air.
Off air? The nicest guy you could know. And knowledgeable about EVERYTHING (except DEWPOINT of course! )
Good luck in retirement Tim!
Here's why you adopt.
We've had Colt five months...about ten months after his rescue from a horrible life with many ailments and afraid of humans.
He's now a totally different dog who loves his life. His dog and cat sisters...and our couch! 🥰
Everything is relative this time of year. People up north chuckled when we froze this winter...but we're about to have a streak of "JUST 90" tomorrow into early next week. Average is 94-95.
Here in Texas? That's a big AHHHHH...
Out and about when the temp finally dips after sunset! Only way to get through summer heat, right?
Kasey looks great as always...and I get to enjoy that two day "not on tv" beard. 🧔
@ERCOT_ISO
"Weather Watch is not a call for conservation". Everything is normal.
So by similar analogy, a "tornado watch means go have a fun day at the park...don't worry about those dark clouds in the distance".
Tongue-in-cheek of course, But why issue something that means nothing?
It's National Rescue Dog Day! (one of probably 20 national things today...LOL)
That's all we ever do...and Penny, Colt, and Mattie all agree RESCUES are the best!
