The work begins today.
🏴🌹
Class to have been selected as the candidate for my home. Thanks to everyone who encouraged me, I will continue to put in the hard work in my role as Councillor for Falkirk South.
Looking forward to a positive campaign that puts our people and our places first.
Statement from
@AnumSNP
& I on proposals from Labour controlled North Lanarkshire Council to close dozens of leisure centres like Airdrie’s John Smith Pool & Shotts Leisure Centre. They should use the tens of millions coming from Strathclyde Pension surplus to upgrade, not close.
It is the honour of my life to be elected as the Councillor for Falkirk South. I promise to work perpetually hard for you over the next 5 years and do my part in building a prosperous Falkirk for all!
Roll on the work of the people troops! 🌹✊
Pleasure to give my Maiden Speech on Tuesday, focusing on accessibility, working people getting their due and the concerning alienation of young people from politics.
I'm commited to working for better outcomes in these areas as the Member of Parliament for Falkirk.

1st stop back home at 1st Klass Barbers on Bainsford Main Street. Looking fresh for the month ahead. Been my barbers of choice for the last 3 years and while the rest of my fashion may be questionable I always leave with an elite trim.
Support your local buisnesses.
I'm delighted that I have been shortlisted in the Falkirk constituency selection.
I'm a local boy, I will put the priorities of all constituents first and will fight for a government that is committed to service and one committed to resourcing stronger public services. 🏴🌹✊️
Finally, polling day has a arrived, and the chance to see the back of this rotten Tory Government.

Just nipped down to the Falkirk Stadium to renew my season ticket.

Thanks to

Delighted that my amendement on behalf of the

I am ready to deliver for the people of Falkirk and deliver the change we need with a Labour Government.
Bring it on! 🌹
Back out in Camelon this evening for our second session of the day.
Quite a few people saying for the first time in their life, they're switching from voting SNP to voting Labour in this election 🗳🌹
Finishing up after a day of speaking to people on the doors. A rainbow showing better things are coming.
The weather may have been all over the place, but the response was not.
An overwhelming number of people are now voting
@ScottishLabour
.

GB Energy, investement from the government to get to Clean Power by 2030.
Taking action to tackle the climate crisis, cut bills, boost energy independence, and create jobs in the energy sector instead of accepting the managed decline in energy jobs we've seen under the Tories.
Class to be part of team
@ScottishLabour
at the
@FSFScotland

Class to be back out in sunny Larbert with my colleague Cllr Jack Redmond and the
@LabourFalkirk

Lot of good conversations about local priorities, notable anger about the the SNP/Tory vote back in March to close the popular Stenhousemuir gym.
Best of luck to every young person in Falkirk starting the new school year.
Best wishes to every teacher and member of school staff as well. I know from my time as a councillor and from being educated in Falkirk schools of the immense value of your effort and skill.
Immense performance by
@FalkirkLabour

Our teams out in Camelon, Slamannan Road and Lionthorn today.
One lifelong SNP voter telling me she's voting for
@ScottishLabour
this time as we're the only ones explaining how we'd pay for our ideas and she's been stung too many times by u turns from the SNP.
#VoteScotLab24
Pleasure to meet the Members of the Scottish Youth Parliament for Falkirk last night.
We discussed ways we can collaborate and drive real lasting change for the young people of Falkirk.
They asked me to sign the Falkirk Pledge to Young people which I happily did.
Great to be out in sunny Polmont this evening persuading people of the change Labour will bring.
From a New Deal for Working People to GB Energy headquartered in Scotland. It's time to boot the rotten Tory Government out and put this distracted SNP government on notice. 🏴🌹
Our team out in Bainsford this evening, quite a few folks excited about the positive and credible change
@ScottishLabour
are putting forward and are planning on putting their anti-tory vote firmly towards Labour in Falkirk.
#VoteScotLab24
Our team out in Falkirk last night. A substantial amount of concern about the proposed cuts to the school week coming up.
I won't support any policy that would risk the attainment of Falkirk's children and young people and leave us with the lowest learning hours in Scotland
Some of our team out in sunny Maddiston yesterday evening. A clear sense on the doors that people are not prepared to risk another 5 years of Tory Government and are enthusiastic about Labour's transformational and real offer of change in this election.
#VoteScotLab24
Good to talk to Ben from
@shelterscotland
who was campaigning on Falkirk High Street last week.
The right to a safe home is one of the most fundamental to ensuring people have the opportunity to live well. The housing emergency demands an immediate political response.
Our team out and about in Polmont this evening.
A real sense on the doorstep that people in Falkirk need change, and they know the only way to get change is to boot the Tories out and elect a Labour government that puts Scotlands interests at the heart of government. 🏴🌹
Wee bit of traditional scottish dumpling Anne brought me at my surgery at the high flats this evening for Burns night.
This is why I love this job
Thanks Anne!
😋🏴
Great to see the commitment that under a
@ScottishLabour
government council funding will rise in cash terms when there are cash increases to the Scottish Government budget.
A far cry from the SNPs current damaging flat cash settlements.
The change Scotland needs 🌹✊️
The consquence to the collusion of the Falkirk SNP and Falkirk Conservatives at the Falkirk Council budget: means cuts to the most vulnerable and the loss of a £10m package of investment Falkirk Labour proposed to fix some of the fundamental issues in our area. 🧵(1/12)
Thanks to Brightons Parish Church for their hustings last night.
Plenty of important questions raised and well moderated by Brett.
If you want a government that finally works in the ordinary person's interest you should to vote
@ScottishLabour
next Thursday.
#VoteScotLab24
Out on the doors in Camelon this afternoon. Great to have the support of my
@LabourFalkirk
council colleagues.
In contrast to the uncosted SNP manifesto, there is real excitement for Labour's costed plans to invest in our NHS, Schools, and Clean Power. 🏴🌹
#VoteScotLab24
The failure of student loans and bursaries to rise with inflation has an obvious impact on worsening student standard of living in Scotland.
I don't base this from my own experience only, but from the many students I interacted with in my voluntary roles while at uni.
Forced to go to library day before exam as my flat was baltic and I could literally feel my fingers losing feeling.
It would have been nice to stay in but due to
@ScotGovFM
not giving students any additional financial help, I can't afford to turn my heating on

Our team out in Bainsford yesterday afternoon.
Great response on the doorstep, many people recognising it is time for a change from this greedy and incompetent Conservative government and bring in a government that will Make work Pay 🏴🌹
Our teams out on the doors today.
A positive response to Labour's message on: economic stability, the biggest advance in Workers Rights in a generation and the only Green Prosperity plan protecting jobs while meeting net zero. 🌹🏴
#VoteScotLab24
Great to join
@EISUnion
and
@SSTAtradeunion

Glad to have picked up this scarf, designed by the young people who work with Who Cares Scotland.
Fantastic to speak to businesses this morning in Falkirk town centre about the challenges and successes they've had.
Great that the Scottish Restaurant of the Year is in the heart of our town centre. Stop by Christies for some Scottish tapas if you haven't had the chance yet.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this campaign so far!
One last big push today across Falkirk South. Its been a privilege to talk to so many fantastic residents of the area and I hope come Monday to be able to bring your issues to the top of the agenda. 🌹✊
I've written directly to the Minister for Social Care, Mental Wellbeing and Sport & Neil Doncaster objecting to the proposal to ban all artifical surfaces.
Football is part of Scotlands national lifeblood. This proposal must not be allowed to damage it.

It was great to head along this afternoon to the Falkirk Most Loved Town Centre Buisness 2024 Awards ran by Falkirk Delivers.
Congratulations to all the category winners. It was fantastic to see you valued for your part in making Falkirk Town Centre a real attraction.
Great to have
@MonicaLennon7

People are crying out for a change of government, and they know they only get that by voting for it.
#VoteScotLab24
The Falkirk Labour budget rejects:
1.A 600k cut to the social work budget. The SNP are accepting this.
2. The cutting of a small repair and handy person scheme to serve over 65 and disabled people who have no able body person living with them. The SNP are accepting this.
Tomorrow is budget day in Falkirk, and Falkirk Labour's budget amendment will reject the underfunded SNP council tax freeze and invest in the future of Falkirk's people and services.
We have set out a plan that will fundamentally invest in the services people need.
Fantastic to be out this morning and afternoon with
@MarkGriff1n
and Labour Group leader
@AnneLowerBraes
in Hallglen.
There are clearly huge challenges that require Falkirk Council to tackle and we will be using the information gathered to make the case for the solutions.
Great to speak to people on the doors in Bantaskin and Newcarron yesterday.
A real appetite for removing the Tories and getting back to fixing the serious issues in our economy and public services.
