I've heard of evolutionary biology theories that suggest certain phenotypes emerge at different frequencies in groups as a way to fill every niche and provide for maximal group success. Someone smarter than me needs to speak in absolutes here, but I wonder if some people are attuned to eat less because their active genes code for specific tribal functions. Maybe people with slower metabolisms make better distance runners while faster metabolisms are better for wrestling. 🤷♂️

@crashfrog @sowmaler @yacineMTB @brutalanthropod Resentment at its finest. He asked, so I gave him my thoughts and clearly denoted my lack of expertise. I spend a lot of time at the gym and in the kitchen. You should do the same.

Struggles of a Muscle Manlet: Much like @brutalanthropod said, it has a lot to do with body composition and basal metabolic rate. I am 5'5, 155lbs, and hold almost no body fat. My workout routine starts with a 5k, then I move into lifting, and finish with a sauna. Muscle has a significantly higher mitochondrial count than fat cells. It requires much more to maintain. I am not a metabolic scientist, but my best guess is that my body doesn't have any desire to store fat because it is not in any kind of a famine (food storage) mode. I think people's highly variable diets (1000 calories one day and 3000 the next) combined with a sedentary lifestyle trick the metabolism into thinking that the body doesn't have consistent access to food, and that it is a period where hunting is not viable. With that, it chooses to store everything. My body doesn't seem to want to store anything that it doesn't have to. I eat regularly, and try not to worry about calories too much. 3 meals a day always to comfortably eat as best I can.

@yacineMTB @brutalanthropod Yeah, agreed. I dont find myself wanting to eat the most calorie dense foods. Though I burn 3k plus, I often fall short on the intake. Eating a few kiwis every morning has been helpful.

@NathanJClement You know what man... I was trying to be all philosophical and novel and you come here and do this 👊🏼 :) Appreciate you much, Nathan. You're witty and kind. You feel oddly like a friend, while I'm learning to navigate this happy-dystopia.

@IterIntellectus As a Jew, I think it's very distressing, but it aligns with human nature quite obviously. If I didn't know anything about the world, it'd still make sense that people target successful minorities. Especially ones with theological differences that tie into messiah killing.

@jonasprompter That makes a lot of sense. I'm just about to graduate uni, so I'm pretty envious of the lifestyle. Not much tying me anywhere. Aside from securing remote work, do you have any advice on being nomadic?
