It's astounding how much Camus's writings on Algeria from 1950s resemble those of liberal Zionists today. The evasiveness & prevarication on depredations of settler colonialism, moral aspersions cast on resistance, the hostility to history & restorative justice are all there.
"Iran International" and its dubious foreign backers would be happy to see Iran reduced to a pile of rubble, ash and lifeless corpses as long as they’re at the top of it. What unhinged sadism and callous indifference to human suffering on display here.
Unbelievable.
Babak Eshaghi, the “Iran International correspondent in Israel,” scrawled “women, life, freedom” on a shattered wall amid the ruins of destroyed Palestinian homes in Gaza.
Western media is institutionally racist. It has dehumanised Arabs & Muslims to such an extent it’s simply unmoved by mass slaughter, incineration & extermination of thousands upon thousands of children. It isn’t merely callous indifference but propaganda in service of genocide.
It shouldn't but it still amazes me sometimes how little colonial playbook has changed in hundreds of years. "Decapitate the chieftain" and *imperial peace* will ensue. It's never worked and never will. As long as there's colonial domination people will struggle for liberation.
“Every day, United States intelligence agencies receive and analyze more than 50,000 Hebrew-language phone calls, texts, and messages, issuing near real-time reports to the White House and other national security leaders.”
Informative article on Iran's ballistic missiles strikes against Israel. This passage really stood out however:
"There’s also the long term conflict problem Israel has now. Interceptors are more expensive than ballistic missiles, and Iran is dramatically expanding their

It's been interesting to observe a significant shift in tone and rhetoric from Dr Pezeshkian on foreign policy since first assuming the presidency.
He campaigned and pledged to turn over a new leaf and begin serious dialogue and diplomacy with European powers to achieve

Iranian govt is clearly signalling to Biden admin to restrain Netanyahu govt and not escalate further. Pezeshkian's statement was clear on this. But if this lame duck and incompetent US admin abdicates any and all responsibility to do this, as it has throughout this past year,
So what happens now after Iran’s 2nd direct missile attack on Israel. One thing is certain. Unlike after April 14, this time Israel won’t “take the win” as Biden urged Netanyahu. This time Israel’s response will be devastating, including perhaps strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites >
When talking about the Israeli rampage across West Asia we should without exception use the term *US-backed*. If they can play that game, so can we, only that in their case it's invariably true.
There was a lot in Ayatollah Khamenei's Friday prayer sermon but the six things which stood out to me were:
1) The call for pan-Islamic unity and his insistence that the people of the region shared a common enemy in Israel and the US.
2) The purpose of Ayatollah Khamenei
Since Oct. 7 2023, U.S. spending on Israel’s military operations and related U.S operations in the region total at least $22.76 billion and counting.
In 2023, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute estimated Iran’s entire defence budget was $10.3 billion.
Many Iranians are furious that the regime has spent billions of dollars arming proxies that were meant to deter Israeli attacks but have instead invited them.
Some might well cheer if Israel struck back 👇
Shouldn't be news to anyone, but Israel's relentless campaign of assassinations and violations of Iranian sovereignty did not begin in 2024. Israel has been waging similar campaigns for years. Here are a few of the more notable examples:
Maxime Rodinson in "Islam and Capitalism" (1966): "Not only did the Muslim world know a capitalistic sector, but this sector was apparently the most extensive and highly developed in history before the establishment of the world market created by the Western European bourgeoisie,

You're clearly out of your depth here. Pahlavi sold his soul to Israelis & integral to Hasbara campaign ahead of anticipated military assault on Iran. Iranians deeply polarised regarding govt but overwhelming majority recoil at turncoats working in service of foreign aggressors.
Another crucial passage:

piece alleging Iran's foreknowledge of Oct. 7. Something it has always denied. The "paper of record" boasts documents in question were "verified" by Israeli military, same military supposedly "investigating itself" for an ever expanding list of war crimes
Even fmr Israeli PM Ehud Barak is on record admitting that if he were Palestinian he would have joined the armed resistance. This piece by Joseph Massad is instructive on this question:
Ta-Nehisi Coates suggests he's not above taking part in an October 7-style attack:

Israel with European support brought nuclear weapons to West Asia. Trump & Netanyahu trashed JCPOA, calibrated to limit Iran's nuclear enrichment activities. Europe did little to nothing to challenge this. If Iran one day makes strategic shift, the West only has itself to blame.

Notion that Washington “is not fully aware of Israel’s intentions” sounds preposterous. Widely reported commander of CENTCOM, General Michael Kurilla, flew to Israel to literally help the Netanyahu govt plot its attack on Iran after True Promise II. Do they take us for idiots?
MBS has conveyed a message from Washington to Iran's FM on the Israeli retaliation, an Iranian source tells me.
The message says Washington is not fully aware of Israel's intentions, but has assured Tehran it won't participate in an attack on the Iranian nuclear sites.
Despite years of propaganda from BBC Persian, Manoto TV and "Iran" intl: "In this new survey, most respondents say they support Iran’s military presence in the Middle East (61 percent) and that they believe Iran’s military presence in the Middle East makes them safer at home (69
Hard to deny the powerful optics and message at work here: "Tehran is steadfast and will stand by its allies in the resistance, Israeli and US threats be damned."
You'd think the huge embarrassment to Middle East Eye & its "ten sources" might make some think twice before jumping to conclusions and peddling such obvious nonsense in the future, but it won't. Same people who relentlessly promoted it aren't interested in truth or plausibility.

This is a historic moment, not only for the Israelis, but for the Lebanese, Arabs, and Eastern Christians.
