RT @_BenGalbraith: President Trump’s stance on school choice is in line with what Texas Republicans want. In a recent poll of a Texas State…

Shut. It. Down.
Bill Maher defends the notion of Trump overhauling the Department of Education: Maher: "Rahm Emanuel 'A 3rd of 8th graders can't read, and now he wants to close the department.' I thought 'that's probably why they can't read' The numbers keep getting worse and worse." Byron Donalds: "When the Department of Ed was created in 1977, our reading and our math scores were higher than they were today. So it has not worked." The Department of Education has earned a failing grade.

“The Texas House must now pass School Choice to deliver a gigantic Victory for Texas students and parents. I will be watching them closely. I’ve made School Choice a priority of my Administration. We need School Choice passed in every State!” Thank you @POTUS! Let’s go Texas! 👀

Congressional democrats attempted an insurrection at the Department of Education over cuts like this one. The American people have rejected harmful programs and reckless spending of our tax dollars. They want to see funding benefit students, not the DEI grift. #MEGA
Today, the Department of Education terminated three DEI training grants totaling $15M. One of the institutions had previously hosted faculty workshops entitled “Decolonizing the Curriculum”.

I love this quote from our VP. 🎯
I cannot overstate how much I loathe this emotional blackmail pretending to be concern. My kids, god willing, will be risk takers. They won't think constantly about whether a flippant comment or a wrong viewpoint will follow them around for the rest of their lives. They will tell stupid jokes. They will develop views that they later think are wrong or even gross. I made mistakes as a kid, and thank God I grew up in a culture that encouraged me to grow and learn and feel remorse when I screwed up and offer grace when others did.

Excellent segment @WaltBlanksJr! A phenomenal spokesman for School Choice and advocate for the Education Choice for Children Act (ECCA). We will get this done for all the Walters now and in the future!
BREAKING: @SchoolChoiceNow's @WaltBlanksJr on @FoxNews after the hubbub at the doors of the Department of Education today, "Where was this outrage when the NAEP scores came out? Where was this outrage when I was in a failing school that wasn’t serving me, and my parents had no kind of options? #schoolchoice was the difference maker for me."

Parent choice is the key to increasing innovation, access, and ultimately, academic performance in the United States. The SCHOOL CHOICE PRESIDENT is bringing us into the Golden Age of Education! Thank you @POTUS 🇺🇸
PRESIDENT TRUMP: We spend more per pupil on education than any other country, yet we're ranked dead last. I want to see CHOICE in education and education returned to the STATES.

A group of Dem legislators are trying to barge into @usedgov. Seriously? Is this how they "fight" for our kids? I applaud @POTUS’s commitment to dismantling this bloated, failing agency, and empowering parents instead. The future of education freedom is bright! #DrainTheSwamp
BREAKING: Democrats are trying to storm the Department of Education! Maxine Waters and Maxwell Frost are trying to force their way past the guards. At one point, Waters asks the guards if they have firearms and if they will shoot them. Is this an insurrection?

"The Department of Education...doesn't add value." There is no function OF VALUE at @usedgov that cannot be better performed by parents, states, or private industry (i.e., student loans). Ignore the feigned outrage over eliminating this non-essential & wasteful department.
Brutally honest take from former U.S. SecEd @BetsyDeVos as to what the U.S. Department of Education actually does: “It shuffles money around; adds unnecessary requirements and political agendas via its grants; and then passes the buck when it comes time to assess if any of that adds value. “Here’s how it works: Congress appropriates funding for education . . . The department’s bureaucrats take in those billions, add strings and red tape, peel off a percentage to pay for themselves, and then send it down to state education agencies. Many of them do a version of the same and then send it to our schools. The schools must then pay first for administrators to manage all the requirements that have been added along the way. After all that, the money makes it to the classroom to help a student learn—maybe. “In other words, the Department of Education is functionally a middleman. And like most middlemen, it doesn’t add value. It merely adds cost and complexity.” Yup. It’s a point I’ve made before— but few can make it more pointedly than someone who helmed 400 Maryland for 4 yrs.

Still thinking of all of the use cases - I can see these glasses becoming an extension of our daily (really, all-day) tech like Apple Watches have. Tremendous personal and work use. Not quite immersive like #VR (70 degree view vs 360 for Quest) so not as ideal for education.
