One of the best to do it!! Congrats @SimonDBarnett and @_DimensionCap
I've stepped into a new role as a Partner and the Head of Research at @_DimensionCap. The past 18 months have been the most intense and fulfilling of my career. I'm incredibly proud of what this team has achieved in such a short period. Our best work is still ahead of us.

"Most important, however, is the third avenue to meaning in life: even the helpless victim of a hopeless situation, facing a fate he cannot change, may rise above himself, may grow beyond himself, and by so doing change himself. He may turn a personal tragedy into a triumph." -- Viktor E. Frankl

For US biotech to maintain a lead, we need to find a edge more similar to the Teslas and Apples of the world versus the Fords and GMs. The winners above might be broadly characterized by their vertically integrated product design and proprietary technological innovations. Notably, most of Tesla’s and Apple’s products are manufactured in China… it’s extremely tough to win on unit economics and scale of production against a force totally aligned in owning these metrics. The challenge with biotech is that scale and efficiency may dominate every other parameter. Drug quality is more speculative than deterministic until you get clinical results. From that perspective a system built for efficient production of a high volume of clinical candidates will increasingly gain privileged access to first-in-class and/or best-in-class composition of matter. If drug development is more ann empirical process and less an engineering and design process, it is economies of scale which wins. Would love to hear the counter positioning to this (please see thoughtful take from @ron_alfa)
