Our team recently rescued 1200 elvers at an eel pass in Cambridgeshire.
A tree fell on an overheard power cable causing a power failure at Brownshill Staunch.
Officers quickly responded and were able to rescue all but 10 elvers before power was restored.

June was a busy month for the pass with 36,000 elvers making their way through.

An angler recently found 2 illegal traps on the Twenty Foot Drain in Cambridgeshire and reported it to our incident hotline.
This led to a patrol within the same area of Fenland drain & the discovery of another illegal trap. If you see illegal fishing activity call 0800 807060.

The beavers created a 1.5 hectare wetland habitat holding over 2.5million litres of water.

Our officer Harry French, who is normally based in Essex, has been helping out with flooding in Bewdley.
He has taken on various key tasks including regularly checking the pumps, installing support braces on the back of flood barriers and answering questions from the public👍
Our officer Alex Kerr, who is normally based in Norfolk and Suffolk, recently helped out with the flooding in Tewkesbury.
He monitored water levels and sourced suitable locations for flood pumps.

After an absence of 400 years, the Eurasian beaver is back in Essex, with a pair setting up home on a country estate. It is hoped the beavers, will help reduce the risk of flooding in the village by building dams along the brook flowing through the enclosure.
