Mandatory rolling outages that began at 7 p.m. have ended, for now, and we have returned the system to normal operations. All customers affected by this directive were restored by 9 p.m.

Part of the challenge of the restoration is getting to remote locations like this one, which is near the intersection of highways 10 and 300. We scouted this one with a drone and will execute the repair with specialized equipment that goes where bucket trucks can't.

Crews today are replacing 400 feet of squirrel-chewed underground cable in the Chenal Ridge neighborhood. Squirrel-damaged lines had caused intermittent outages for weeks before technicians discovered the root cause of the problem, which caused a major outage Tuesday night.

Our recent reliability project included 120 hours of work by 30 employees over a four-hour period and will improve service for 420 customers in the Hot Springs area. Improvements included installing animal guards and upgrading line equipment that will help prevent future outages.

Crews worked all night to restore service to the 4,000-plus who lost power to the spectacular electrical storm that passed through the state yesterday evening. As of 8 a.m., all but about 350 are back on.

Crews are working to restore about 30,000 outages as quickly&safely as possible. Faulkner=6,600, Yell=4,100, Pope=3,600.

Weather conditions continue to deteriorate as winter precipitation moves across the state. More than 1,300 customers are currently without power and 1,600 Entergy employees and contractors are ready to respond. These photos were taken earlier today in Russellville.
