It seems every Chinese car maker collaborating with DeepSeek. DeepSeek is hot. Many Chinese companies have announced projects and cooperation. This includes an ever longer list of car makers. It is usually about integrating DeepSeek R1 into the existing smart cabin systems. Some cabin systems already have AI functionalities, others don't. The most common actual integration is to combine existing virtual voice assistants with DeepSeek's R1 model. The update with DeepSeek integration goes fully over the air (OTA) and is up and running within seconds. Most car makers start with their premium brands. Other go for multiple brands at the same time. Bestune, a brand under FAW, goes the other way. It has integrated DeepSeek into its tiny Pony minicar. Sales of the Onvo L60 have been going up and down since October, which enabled Onvo to reach its 10.000 unit sales target for December. October: 4319. November: 5082. December: 10.528. January: 5912.
