It's incredible how language is shifting. I just listened to a BBC report talking about "Taliban forces" and "militants in Panjsher". Do these journalists even reflect what they are saying?
According to reports, 71yo Daoud Nabi was the first victim of

and the man who welcomed the terrorist at the mosque. He was a refugee from Afghanistan and wanted to live peacefully in NZ, and he died as a hero.
It's ridiculous that in 2022, you still have to explain to people that not a single Afghan was responsible for 9/11. I grew up with all this shit. It turned me into a journalist. But nothing has changed.
Gestern musste ich mir bei
@Markus__Lanz
@MarkusBlume
Deutschland 2021.
Just a reminder that all the Haqqanis which are now part of the Taliban's government have been declared dead multiple times after US drone strikes during the last years. Again my question: Who were all the people who have been killed instead of them?
I was a 9yo kid when 9/11 happened. When I went to school the next day, my teacher asked me why "they" had done that. "I'm asking you because you are from Afghanistan", she said. All of that including following events made me to what I'm today.
Very sad to hear that my friend Zabulon Simentov left Afghanistan. Jewish life within the country doesn't exist anymore. Zabulon didn't leave for decades and is one of the bravest Afghans I know.
Imagine drone bombing, torturing and murdering a people for 20 years and afterwards, you steal their money while they are starving and suffering. Not a single Afghan was responsible for 9/11 but Washington still wants them to pay the price.
I covered countless US drone strikes and civial casualties during the last years. Not a single time, Washington acknowledged that it murdered civilians. Why? Because strikes mostly took place in rural Afghanistan and not in Kabul.

Yesterday, I talked to my friend Zabulon Simentov, Afghanistan's last remaining Jew. He told me he would not leave Afghanistan despite the Taliban takeover. "I don't fear them. Afghanistan is my country", he told me many times.
Ja, ich weiß. Afghanistan schwindet wieder aus den Schlagzeilen. Corona, Wahlen usw. Mitten in Kabul.
A reminder: We DON'T know who was killed by the recent US drone strike in Afghanistan. Taliban leader Khalil Haqqani was "killed" many times during the last years. Today, he is very alive in Kabul. Drones aren't precise weapons. Don't participate in "officials say" journalism.
Never forget: In Germany, leading "security experts" kept justifying such crimes months before they happened. "We will see ugly images but Israel has to do that", they told us.
Afghanistan was bombed and destroyed by the US for two decades. Afghans witnessed drones, death squads, the Mother of All Bombs and all kinds of horror every day. In a just world, reparation payments for all that would be trillions. That's the actual truth.
Also, let's not forget that large parts of the Afghan diaspora were busy protesting against imaginary Pakistani drone strikes recently while they were absolutely silent when real US drones killed 1000s of people and Afghanistan was the most drone bombed country in the world.
.
@BayStMI
Let's not forget that NATO troops aren't just leaving Afghanistan. They also run away from their countless war crimes against Afghan civilians. Australia, which is even closing its embassy in Kabul, is a pretty good example. Germany, which bombed 150+ civs in Kunduz in 2009, too.
Recent Afghanistan coverage is pretty problematic, imo. Many journalists and analysts focus on Taliban gains and the Afghanization of war while withdrawing troops are portrayed as the "good forces" who should have saved the country. Truth is many of them are war criminals.
"I don't want to be in charge, but if I was ... give me 9 guys, I'm gonna walk through the streets [in Afghanistan] and I'm gonna kill everyone I see, and I'm gonna grab the Americans. It is not difficult" -- Rob O'Neill
This is the sort of commentary Fox News platforms. Yikes.
Ashraf Ghani made fun of King Amanullah Khan who left Afghanistan almost a century ago. Now, it's him and his deeply corrupt circle that is gone. History is written badly in my beloved Afghanistan.

- Chinese oppression of Uyghurs
- Russian war crimes against Chechens, Syrians, Ukranians and many others
honestly care about Palestinians.
The laborer in this video understands much more about Afghanistan failed occupation economy than many woke Afghans from privileged families in Western countries.
Taliban senior and five-million-bounty guy Khalil Haqqani took over Kabul and leads Friday prayers in the middle of the city. During the last two decades, hundreds of drones and death squads hunted this guy. Who were all the Afghans killed instead of him? Will we ever know?
Oh. What a surprise. Germany's favourite "Islam expert" seems to be a total fraud.
I spent months digging into Ahmad Mansour, visiting Tira, spoke to classmates, family, and his college. Much of his backstory is an exaggeration or a fabrication. He was never a Muslim Brother, the Imam wasn’t an Imam, he didn’t study psych @ Tel Aviv Uni
My dear friend and the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, called this afternoon to congratulate me on winning the preliminary results and the Afghan people on the successful presidential elections.

Many Afghans, like some of my close friends and family members, haven't seen Afghanistan for decades. Some haven't ever been there in their entire lives. They just see it burning from far away. Over and over again.
Seems that some Taliban fighters in Sheberghan took Dostum's uniform from his promotion to Marshal and posed with it. If there is a picture summarizing all the failed policies of the last 20 years, it's maybe this one.
I am getting more and more evacuation stories of Afghans who were 'rescued' by Westerners but were left alone in the middle of the trip without any documents etc. Many of them are hopelessly stuck in different countries while their 'saviours' got their feel-good-stories.
People who live close to Kabul airport just told me that crowds of families still try to leave the capital. They say that both American soldiers and Taliban shot Afghan civilians during the last hours.
Also, many people obviously have no idea what happened im large parts of rural Afghanistan, a field I focused on, during the last years. Drone strikes and death squads radicalized 10.000s of people. The few who pointed at this were attacked and defamed.
My latest for

about the ongoing war whitewashing: "Too many Western journalists and analysts are contemptuous of and insensitive to the people of the country that the U.S. had invaded. Their eyes focus only on the violence of the “other”."
I spent a lot of time for this piece. First I visited Afghanistan's last remaining Jew, Zabulon Simentov. The Taliban took his Torah in the 90s. It's still gone, so I went to Doha to ask former GTMO detainee Khairullah Khairkhwa about its whereabouts.
Many Afghans on Twitter are part of the diaspora and have a privileged role. They could use this platform in constructive ways, especially in these days. Unfortunately, it seems that half of them is too busy with enabling fake news while the rest turned into ethnic facists.
During the last 24 hours, I had many interviews about the situation in Afghanistan. Often, I felt I had to confirm that the Taliban are absolute evil and man-eating monsters. Also, it's amazing that in 2021, so many people still know nothing about Afghanistan.

If you think it's just the Taliban celebrating US withdrawal (b/c you cannot take off your filter), you are wrong. In many Afghan provinces, locals disliked foreign soldiers. In some provinces, people celebrate with both the Afghan national flag and the Taliban flag.
A couple of time ago, I think it was Abbas Stanekzai who said Taliban could take most of Afghanistan, including Kabul, within two weeks. It's absolutely nuts that this turned out to be true. The total majority of intelligence analysis was so wrong that it's almost unbelievable.
A few weeks ago many Afghans in Western countries demonstrated against all kind of stuff. Now Afghanistan is facing hunger, a harsh winter and an existential crisis but many are silent. I wonder what happened.
So Kurdish militants sent an African woman from Syria to conduct a bomb attack in Istanbul? Is this the dream scenario of all the Turkish fascists and racists to continue expressing their hatred towards refugees and displaced people? I guess they'll add some Afghan links either.
US drone strike kills civilians in the middle of Kabul while many worldwide protests yesterday demanded what exactly? More drones and more flawed "War on Terror"?
"Victims of today's US airstrike close to Kabul airport were all members of a family: 4 children, one woman (mother of the children), and a man (childrens' uncle)."
This is Baghlan, Afghanistan, in the 1970s. The woman on the left, Saira, is my grandmother, a school principal. All the men in the photo used to work under her. Many people from this area, including those who turnt into Talibs decades later, learnt reading and writing from her.
Dear Manzoor Pashteen, Najib and his KhAD thugs would have tortured and killed you if you did your kind of political activism in the 1980s in Afghanistan. Your mother would still search for your body.
Dr. Najibullah sacrificed his life for bringing lasting peace in the region. He even gave up his authority for peace. He made efforts for ending the war. He is alive in People's hearts for working selflessly for peace. Today is his 24th anniversary.
For years, some people were writing about the brutal crimes of CIA-backed Afghan militias in Afghanistan. A lot of people ignored it. Many defended them. Now you see what they used to do during the last years. Shooting at civilians. Live. In front of cameras at Kabul airport.
Just a few days before my arrival, I have suddenly been denied entry to the United States. Seems that the gov doesn't want me to discuss my book and talk about American war crimes in Afghanistan. That's the state we live in. But we'll not accept it. Never. More details soon.

I mainly just see hawkish right-wing 'analysis' or left-wing 'anti-imperialist' propaganda. If you wanna bomb Iran, you are nuts. If you think mass murderer Soleimani was a 'hero', you are nuts. Just shut the fuck up if you have heard his name today for the very first time.
Facts.
"Amrullah Saleh was a CIA-trained hawk who backed coalition troops’ use of drones, air strikes, and night raids, policies which killed and maimed thousands of Afghan civilians and, ironically, made them more sympathetic to the Taliban."
Most Ukraine coverage is dominated by a lot of Eurocentrism. Go and talk about a "new era", "new timeline" etc. with Afghans, Chechens, Syrians or Iraqis.
Final presents of the US in Afghanistan: Soldiers shooting at a panicked crowd and killing Afghans. Drones bombing civilians from Kabul to Nangarhar.
The empire's face was ugly until the very end.
In Germany, you'll find Ukrainian language classes for Germans (!) while Afghans, Syrians and others who speak German (Germans aren't interested in learning savage languages) are still facing constant discrimination, deportation and other hostile policies.
Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy have been cast in an untitled drama about
3 former special forces team members who go back to Afghanistan to rescue families and allies left behind amid the rapid fall of Afghanistan last August.

Yesterday, Daesh killed more than 40 students in the middle of Kabul. Also yesterday, deported Afghan refugees from Germany reached Kabul because Berlin pretends that there are 'secure' areas. The world is such a rotten place.

, I have written a 3,000 words essay deconstructing some myths and Cold War revisionism, including the widespread whitewashing of the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan and how Stinger missiles actually saved Afghan lives.
I would like to see one of those Western vloggers who had fun while drinking tea with some Talibs to go to some universities today and interview young women who are denied to enter their classes. Go. Now.
This might be an unpopular opinion, especially amongst Western pseudo-intellectuals who "analyze" all historical events through the same ideological prism, but Stinger rockets actually saved Afghan lives.
Exactly 30y ago, the last Soviet soldier left Afghanistan. During the almost 10y-long occupation, far more than 1 million Afghans were murdered by the USSR and its Communist regimes in Kabul. Afghans will never forget.
I had a couple of interviews where I had to explain that not every anti-Taliban individual is a human rights defender or democracy champion. Former NDS boss Amrullah Saleh was a torturer-in-chief. Dostum executed 1000s of people in Dasht-e Laili. Same mistakes were done in 2001.
