the problem is that they just throw waves of mobs at you. Its not an interesting or engaging experience. If you want leveling up to take a while fine, just make sure the journey is a journey and not an arbitrary amount of time to make the game seem longer. Or in some cases bottle neck players so areas seem more crowded than they should be.
