@Kellieherring @TomTraversIII @CartoonsHateHer I dunno this just seems like extra words. Which gentle parenting seems to love but also seems quite unnecessary

@CartoonsHateHer Do you mean like, they don't have a good division of labour? Or their marriage is shit in other ways? Because I think a lot of people would say that the thing that is up is exactly what they keep talking about (unfairness)

@rwlesq @CartoonsHateHer Sure. But also the kind of person who becomes a neurosurgeon might not be the person suited to not working (especially once kids are in school) so even if you're also making $500k and don't need her money you might recognize that she will be happier if she has an outlet

@CartoonsHateHer Do you think it's about the money, or the mental stimulation (i.e. they want their wives to engage with the adult working world either because it makes them a more interesting partner, or because they think its good for their wives to be mentally stimulated in this way) or both?

@wanyeburkett I'm confused - aren't you saying in your original tweet that they couldn't conceive of this?

@PronouncedHare I've heard a few interesting stories about the unions from my brother and based on that, I 100% agree that they are not there for the patients. Which is fine! But let's be honest about that and also allow others to advocate for the patients even if that goes against the unions
