@Gabby_Brauner27 I (years ago) told a woman in a barre class who mentioned not eating bananas because they were too caloric that, if bananas were going to make me fat, then maybe I was just destined to be fat and I was ok with that. 🤷‍♀️

@danieljweiner @cvs @CF_Foundation This was already fixed by the time the letters arrived in the mail for us. As long as the appeal was sent back, their system has been updated. We received ours last week for our 5 yr old.

@saltylungs The granules are surprisingly big! Like 2-3x bigger than Pertzye granules. I think if you leave them sitting for longer they start to dissolve, but he didn’t seem to mind. A work in progress!

@saltylungs I’m glad other people are horrified by this too, I felt like I was taking crazy pills when every other person in clinic walked in totally unmasked with no comment or acknowledgment.

@saltylungs Our CF clinic went mask free for staff. 🙄 I had to ask the RT to put one on when she made my 5yr old take his off for PFTs. Nobody except the doc were wearing them otherwise.

@saltylungs I was in labor with my son answering work related phone calls. 😬 (In my defense, he was born match week, and I was a clerkship director at the time and was trying to help a student who didn’t match.) My husband was ready to hide my phone.

@AdrienneTaren @Ascensionorg 🤦‍♀️ so frustrating. Much smaller scale but I just buy Leo’s nebulizer compressors out of pocket for the same reason. First one I used insurance for and ended up paying 3x more for a crappier machine. It’s such a scam.

@saltylungs Honestly I’d be thrilled if a young vented patient did what you did - shows you had fight left in you and would make me feel like you’re going to pull through. What you’re describing sounds nothing like staff abuse (which we see plenty of in the ER).

@quality_nguyen @clintnwilson You should see the quantities for digestive enzymes for kiddos with CF. They usually just send them in the manufacturer’s bottles because it’s easier than counting. Many hundreds of pills. When we were getting 3 mo supplies the quantities were massive.

@WendyHassonMD This ER doc had all the grapes cut in half at my 5yr olds birthday party. 😂

@saltylungs Our current CF clinic has a staff member and that is her entire job. It is amazing. She coordinates all of the medications, copay assistance, etc, and his meds show up every month. I just let her know if we’re leaving town. Literally every CF clinic needs one of her.
