Jamal Adams’ intro last night was a tribute to Trabis Ward, below, who was shot and killed last week. Ward played college football with the Tennessee State Tigers, in addition signing with the St. Louis Rams in 2013.
Women in sports are constantly reminded, by words and actions, that some of our male peers do not view us as worthy of respect. Constantly. The “support women in sports” trivialities are all well and good but if you aren’t showing up for us when it matters, it’s not real support.
Greatest college kicker of all time, Sarah Fuller, was benched by Vanderbilt women’s soccer for a freshman goalie in Vandy’s NCAA Tourney game, the biggest of the season.
The decision by NBC to do away with sideline reporting is deeply disappointing and to the detriment of a group of women with outstanding talent. There’s no clear path forward from this, but making sure women are represented on all other fronts should be a top priority for NBC.
How cool is it when two of your beautiful clients work the same game and get to connect? This makes my heart sooooo happy ❤️

My girl has been covering this story with little to no sleep since it happened. I know it’s so easy to give attention to the clowns on here but

has tirelessly worked to share Damar’s story with the utmost empathy and respect and I am so grateful for her.
The

and many fans had to return home to Buffalo today, but with Damar Hamlin still in critical condition in the UC Medical Center’s ICU, a prayer vigil was held tonight exactly 24 hours after he collapsed in cardiac arrest. Watch here:
Teams have reportedly been “surprised” by Malik Willis’ overall offensive knowledge and ability to retain offensive info and play-calls for the position 😴
In the college athletics system, players acting in the interest of their career are considered especially heinous. In the NCAA, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as Twitter Police. These are their stories.
It is the greatest privilege to work alongside some of the most talented and passionate women I know—I am so grateful to have a job that I love but equally important are the sisters I have gained along the way.
#NWGSD2023
I have talked to so many women who are struggling right now and I cannot emphasize this enough—
You deserve respect and kindness simply by being. There are no titles, no accomplishments, no boxes that need to be checked for you to be deserving. You are enough exactly as you are.
If you can’t actively support Black men and their families, and listen and validate their experiences, you shouldn’t work in the NFL. Having your pockets lined from a predominantly BLACK sport and doubling down on ignorance is degenerate behavior.
Just want to correct myself on here as I got distracted midtweet yesterday but I had intended to convey that last week was one year since Ward’s passing but obviously missed the mark on double checking before tweeting.
It’s way too easy to pass as an ally on social media. Being an ally is hard. It requires constant education, work, and self-reflection. We need to make sure we’re matching our words with our actions. It’s not about followers or clout or acceptance. It’s about being a good human.
Tomorrow may feel like a good time to empty the clip with the “I love and support women” tweets but I promise you we already know whether you support us or not

I have always believed in empowering athletes with information. Over the past several months—with the help of my awesome intern—I’ve been putting together a NIL guide for student athletes. While we are far from done, our goal is to at least cover all Power 5’s.
I think one of the hardest parts about today is that so many women have been mistreated by men on a personal level, that when our own autonomy is taken from us, it feels like there are no spaces left where we are seen as deserving of respect.
There are several barriers to our industry that prevent highly talented and passionate people from accessing opportunity.
Conflating work ethic, passion, or dedication with financial means is—and will always be—wrong.
White women…this includes listening to the Black women in your life when they speak to you about how they are disrespected, and making sure you aren’t contributing to that type of environment in your own work.
Ladies in the sports industry... PLEASE make sure we are open and candid with each other about work environments we’ve experienced/experiencing!
So when jobs open up we aren’t going into bad situations blindly. Protect each other from toxic work environments and toxic people.
I never want to make a client feel wholly dependent on me when instead they could feel empowered and capable. That is what inspired me to create a resource for women in sports covering salary negotiation and professional advancement.

So college athletes cannot participate in endorsement deals or partnerships because that “undermines” amateurism—but their treatment by the NCAA is dependent upon their perceived ability to generate revenue. Got it.
Not doing these kids any favors. They have to learn how to handle these moments with grace and humility if you want them to succeed at the next level. No better window into a prospect’s character than how he responds to adversity.
Any negative discourse involving Simone or Naomi perpetuates the minimization of Black Women and their mental health and you aren’t slick if you try to play that down or ignore it.
Big day for these young men as they take the next step for their football careers. Each possesses the right mindset and talent for success at the next level. Honored to represent them both.

I haven’t taken a true, workless vacation in about four years. I haven’t gone without cell service for god knows how much longer. Such a blessing to get out and spend some time with my brother who gets to call this place home.
When I started my work as an agent, I had no idea where it would lead, I just knew that I wanted to be proud of the women I represented. As my client roster continues to grow, I am so moved by the talented women who have come to me for representation.
Restrictive abortion laws disproportionately affect women living below the poverty line. More kids born into poverty means more people who are forced to accept low wages, which benefits corporations who do business in Red states. It’s never been about beliefs.
I can almost guarantee that my influencer clients will get audited every single year because of type/volume of income they receive. The IRS does not play. CPA’s are your friend ‼️
It is wildly irresponsible and malicious to air that call. This is a family that has been a part of the Seattle community for years and they deserve thoughtfulness and respect. Absolutely disgraceful.
It’s hard enough to simply exist as a woman in this industry and it makes me exceedingly sad to see women (who I know others look up to) turn around and make it less welcoming, less accepting, and less celebratory. That will never sit right with me.
My little sister announced this morning that when she grows up she would either like to become a veterinarian or a professional wrestler. I asked her why it came down to those two—
“I love dogs, I want to have like at least four dogs. But I am also very strong”
She’s perfect
Seeing Seahawks beat writers and media hold “emergency” lives on the new OC and not say a word about Chad Wheeler is beyond disappointing. A Black woman was almost killed by a player.
We need more women covering the team.
Watching the

doc and seeing how her agent protects her space and energy is an important reminder of what is required if we are truly committed to supporting our people.
Great agents are the gatekeepers to a client’s peace.
Tone-deaf statements don’t just demonstrate the importance of diverse hiring practices. They also alienate current employees whose mental health may be further impacted by organizational ignorance and insensitivity. It’s incredibly sad and harmful.
The NFL just informed clubs that if a game cannot be rescheduled during the 18-week season in 2021 due to a COVID outbreak among unvaccinated players, the team with the outbreak will FORFEIT and be credited with a loss for playoff seeding, per sources.
Massive implications.
Wanted to share something that my client wrote in response to a couple speaking about their child with disability. Our words matter and the narrative of disabled persons being lesser-than is unacceptable. Keep shining your light
@chanelly37
✨ we are all better for it.
Broncos are hiring Kelly Kleine as Exec. Dir. of FB Ops/Special Advisor to the GM, per source. Kleine, who worked w/GM George Paton w/Vikings, will have scouting duties & manage several depts.
Kleine is believed to be the highest ranking female scouting exec. ever w/an NFL team
This man was one of the first people to truly believe in me and played a huge role in becoming who I am today. So grateful to spend time catching up today 💙

Being young doesn’t mean you don’t deserve an advocate for your value—or at minimum, someone who can help you become your own advocate. As an agent, that is so central to what I do every day. It’s not just about using my voice, it’s about helping each client find theirs.
SportTokz Clipz - Emily Staker Talks About Representing Athletes and Influencers📣👏
“I definitely made it a point to represent women who are younger and starting out in the industry because that’s really where I saw the biggest need for quality representation.”
Someone sign me! I mean not to play I’d be horrendous on the pitch but for your matchday fit content. DM my agent; serious inquiries only.

Some thoughts on

(1) Always counteroffer
(2) Employers need to self-audit for salary discrepancies annually
(3) Share your salary information to those women who ask—you are giving them a factual basis for their value
