// 4.7 spoilers I haven’t been here in a long time, but: I have been vindicated by Bedtime Story. The Sinner is Vedrfolnir, Dainsleif’s ‘brother’— and who better than his sibling to narrate his very own introduction post via prophecy, as “the Visionary”?

The All-Devouring Narwhal’s description suggests the universe outside Teyvat may be teeming with life, yet paradoxically, none of them have made contact with Teyvat. This is the cosmological principle of the Dark Forest hypothesis, which may explain why Teyvat has a firmament.

Whatever this Khaenri’ahn eight-pointed star (star of Ishtar) means, it’s probably not just Khaenria’ahn. Perhaps it’s a symbol for people who know ‘the truth’, whatever that is: Mona from her Hexenzirkel master, and Halfdan because of Khaenri’ah.

EN: They say that Al-Ahmar was a son of the sky. CN: 阿赫瑪爾是天空遺落的子嗣. TL: "They say that Al-Ahmar was a son *left behind by* the sky." Many have theorised that he was a god cast off from Celestia, and the detail of *left behind* in CN all but confirms it.

When a player unlocks a Statue of the Seven (SotS), the following words are shown: “The world opens itself before those with noble hearts.” In chinese, it says 「只要不失去妳的崇高,整個世界都會向妳敞開。」The meaning here is slightly different.

// 2.8 livestream Kusanali's monologue is missing a crucial part that got cut off due to the stream errors. Here it is: "As for your story... let's wait until the day we meet again, before you tell it to me. I believe this... is fate."

Messy thread on Genshin 2.4 trailer (Enkanomiya, really): What in the everloving name of Celestia is happening in these photos???? Traveler appears to use Geo to superjump, get launched by sea monster into a rock, and fall down. Alone. Where is Paimon? How? Why?

What’s the difference? CN specifies “as long as you do not lose”, while EN simply states that the world will open to those with noble hearts. The implication here is that it is possible for the Traveler (who is canonically opening the SotS) to lose their “nobility”.

Finally, a disclaimer that I’m not criticising the TL team on this translation. The English one is perfectly fine for its purpose, but the CN one adds nuance and an easier gateway to theory. Have fun with the existential dread of having to fight the Abyss Twin!

Having time to mull over the correlation between these ancient civilisations, my thoughts run as follows: 1/ That all three, with similar architecture as justification, branched off the Unified Civilisation of the Primordial One's era, as Enkanomiya (Byakuyakoku) did;

Raiden and Noelle’s… they’re debatable, although I’d lean towards Noelle’s being similar to Hu Tao’s— elemental aura, but not imbued on the weapon itself.

I’ve discovered something quite clever: Jueyun Karst and Qingyun Peak are likely named after a phenomenon known as Iridescent Clouds (彩雲/Caiyun, lit. rainbow clouds) from Classical Chinese literature. It is a metaphor for an auspicious, kingly aura. (Explanation below.)

The Irodori festival UI can be translated to read: “Irohanihoeto / Chironuruo”. This is the opening line of a poem called the Iroha-uta. It is a poem about the illusory, transient nature of the world.

What is “nobility”, though? Could it be the “purity” of the Traveler, who is adventuring the (dark and mysterious) world and discovering its truth, as our Abyss Sibling commanded us to do in WWBR? The purity being our sense of morality, or something else related to spirit/wisdom?

"It's Yesterday Once more", for collecting music disks and unlocking them in the teapot, is most likely referencing the song by The Carpenters— Yesterday Once More. (I grew up learning this in music class.) The titular phrase is the achievement name.

-what is “right” in the context of Teyvat morality, with the triple antagonists of Celestia/Fatui/Abyss, remains to be seen. In any case, our Traveler will likely conquer Teyvat and it’s secrets while remaining themself, and not being twisted by the truth.

The Traveler is retreading the footsteps of their previous sibling (Abyss Twin for clarity). Whereas the Abyss Twin succumbed/joined the Abyss and lost their “nobility”, as long as the current Traveler retains this sense of “nobility”, they can conquer the world.

It might foreshadow the very end of the story of Teyvat: our Traveler has journeyed seven nations (+Khaenri’ah), and discovered the “truth of the world”. But unlike the Abyss Twin, who became evil after doing so, we will retain our purity and fight for what is “right”, although-
