Yes. WikiLeaks. Assange was the face. The leaks came from Anonymous. This is one example of many, but it is probably the most well known. From WikiLeaks, we have the DNC server leaks, the Hillary Clinton emails, the diplomatic cables, etc. I could give many more examples that came from groups like Anonymous.

It really isn't THAT exciting of a story. I just helped them with some research and posting information about a situation. I do research. This particular group needed a researcher to help and organize data. My goal has always been to help. Help people. Help make this country better. So at the time, our goals aligned. In return, they bought me a subscription to a VPN for a year. That was kind of a surprise. I wasn't expecting it. We went our separate ways. They deleted their profiles and created new ones I assume. As far as I know, I have never been in contact with them again. I have a feeling that they are out there though. That was actually the first time I really got to interact with someone from the collective and it wasn't them posting on some board. Needless to say, they exceeded expectations and were surprisingly not what I expected at all. I got to ask them questions about their story and what not. You know... investigative reporter... I am always interested in people's back stories.

That has been the rumor about him for years. 😎 Remind me to tell you the story someday about how a few guys from Anonymous paid for my VPN for a year. And I am an Anon. Not Anonymous. Although our objectives are often very closely aligned at times. Depending on which group you are talking about. I have a lot of respect for them.
