I tell our team that if we are not going to get better on the defensive side during on-field bp then it is a waste of time. It’s the best opportunity to work ball off the bat reads and prepitch timing. Offensively, we can get way more accomplished in the batting cages.
Batting practice is not just batting practice. There is no better defensive practice rep than a live rep during BP. It is as close to a game rep as you can possibly get. Pitchers shag flies. Position players work live.
