The bill enabling Gov. Hochul to move the expected special election to fill Rep. Stefanik’s seat is on the Monday Assembly Election Committee agenda per LRS update. The bill is likely to get approved in both chambers tomorrow.

Does anyone actually think when a CD-21 special election is called in a closely divided House there’s going to be anyone who doesn’t know it’s going on? This entire statement is hollow words to present a facade above the intention to deny a Congressional district representation.
Democrats say this will be easier for voters. State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins (D-Yonkers) said it is a "a common-sense approach that saves taxpayer dollars while maximizing voter turnout."
