I swear this should be, like, an iron law at this point. Comes up repeatedly and never fucking fails. Que's Iron Law of Nietzsche.
@SPARDA_ALBA @Sola_Requiem Basic thoughts on Nietzsche: 1. He was overwhelmingly more questions than answers 2. Someone's willingness to make pronouncements about his explanatory power will be inversely correlated with their own understanding of his work 3. He was literally crazy 🤣

@azhillhermit @Metal_Crow I'm not arguing about a gif. This is silly. Have a good day, bro. 🤦🏿♂️👋🏿

@azhillhermit @Metal_Crow My point is Josh seems to be ignoring that liberals exist. "Not really" is either missing my point or disagreeing with something for no good reason.

@Blueyatagarasu @lumpenspace No. It's not the case. If you think rape and theft are wrong, and that this isn't mutable, then you probably don't actually think relativism is true either.

@highflyguys Appreciate the fair-minded take. I admit my biases upfront (Zionist), and I understand why others could see it differently. In Luke's case, it seems like he's basically stuck on fairytales his mom, and her peers, told him about the conflict. He just can't see the other side.

@highflyguys I like Luke, but he's painfully witless on Israel-Palestine. Assumes he has moral clarity when he's just as biased and cynically partisan as anyone else, then has the nerve to say things like the above.

@MrEwanMorrison It's also worth noting that Camus' own aversion to political violence was an evolved and principled concern. The war messed him up, as did various revolutions. He once favored the guillotine for (Nazi/Fascist) collaborators, but realized the brutal error of his ways. Deep man.

@MrEwanMorrison Well, we'll agree to disagree about how "delusional" Camus was, but I think history has shown his political opinions, if nothing else, to be imminently respectable. Which is a rare feat in general, but esp for a mid-20th century Frenchie, as we both know.

In a sense he's right. I'm obviously reading him sympathetically, but I think his central point is sound. One must determine whether they *want to live,* with various attendant implications, before they can rightly tackle anything else. It's an idea similar to JBP's Rule #6.

@MrEwanMorrison He was definitely less romantic, but I think some similar themes come through in his piece "Why I Write." Given that both men were titans of their day, I forgive them each for feeling themselves a little. 😉
