I have a friend when he was a teenager whose uncle asked him to rebuild the engine on a car the uncle just bought. He and his brother spent the whole summer learning how to rebuild the engine and get it working. Turned out that his uncle really didn't need any help and had bought an old junker with zero expectation that it was ever going to run ... he just wanted his nephews to learn something and spend the summer being productive.

The vast majority of people in the third world are, unfortunately, not appreciative of western civilization ... whether it is cultural or an IQ issue ... it doesn't matter. Operating under the assumption that people are the same, appreciate the same things, and want the same things ... is trouble. It is a recipe for disaster when we import these people into societies they do not appreciate.
