The 2025 Madison Food Pack had over 250 volunteers from around the area that came together January 25 and packed a grand total of 100,656 meals to support Sudanese refugees displaced by the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region.

One of our core cooperative principles is Commitment to Community. East River's board of directors is staying true to that by approving an annual gift to the Madison Early Learning Center each year for the next decade to help with building and ongoing costs through an endowment.

The SD crews that traveled to South Carolina and Georgia have made it home! The crews were released by Jefferson Energy Cooperative on Tuesday and arrived home this afternoon, traveling over 1,300 miles home. Thank you for your continued dedication and hard work.

Crews who travelled to SC to help restore power, finished their work with Blue Ridge Electric Co-op, Inc. They were headed for home but were rerouted to Jefferson Energy Cooperative in Georgia; a co-op who is still in need of assistance. Yesterday they began restoration!

Co-ops from South Dakota were asked to assist in helping people impacted by Hurricane Helene. Groups from East River, SVE, B-Y Electric, West River Electric and Oahe took off for South Carolina and will work alongside Blue Ridge Electric Co-op to restore power to those in need.

Yesterday we had the opportunity to work with our member co-ops Sioux Valley Energy and Southeastern Electric to sponsor the fourth annual EV Expo at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds in Sioux Falls. Attendees had the chance to learn and test drive wide variety of EVs on the market!
