Jan 29/25 Statement on @GoAHealth Alberta COVID-19 Pandemic Data Review Task Force Report The EZMSA echoes @Albertadoctors and @CMA_Docs to reiterate the Task Force report is anti-science and anti-evidence. We focus our comments on vaccine recommendations in the report: -COVID-19 is 4th leading cause of death for Albertans -risk of virus infection is currently higher than vaccine adverse events -Vaccines are best protection for COVID-19 Our recommendation: @GoAHealth follow the Canada Immunization Guide as a comprehensive resource on immunization, and discard Task Force report recommendations. The guide recommends all individuals age six months and over may receive an updated vaccine dose, and this is particularly recommended for individuals identified as being at higher risk, some of whom are also recommended for additional doses.
