Akira Toriyama appeared in Tobal No. 1 as an hidden character who is unlockable if the player can complete the 30-floor Udan's Dungeon in the quest mode. He's not seen at any point in the game except at the very end of the dungeon.

Mizoguchi is fully inspired by Momotaro, the Otokojuku's 1st series main protagonist. But also Karnov himself is inspired by Otokojuku series. Gyuho (Niu-Bao) one of the "three holy treasure" from the 16 Monks of Gandhara, imho is pretty similar. Some balooon?

As I said what surprised me the most about COTW is the possibility to air Just Defend, unusual for modern games with parry on buttons. This makes gameplay smooth. I'm not a big fan of air block but air parry/just defend is an amazing mechanic to me.

Everybody talking about SF6 drunken fist master, but not everyone remembers Xiangfei. Drunken boxing inframoves. That Project Justice's korean player is so good, sadly connection isn't the best. I've never seen that combo, such damage. FG chinese martial arts at their best here.

That Marco's DP (Kohou) finisher is a reference to Fatal Fury Special Ryo's version. Basically is a classic Shoryuken/Kohou but instead of pointing their fist straight up in the air, they use their elbows. I guess Mizoguchi comes from the same shoto gang!
