EUMM's main goal is to promote lasting stability in 🇬🇪 and the wider region. To prevent a hostility between the conflict parties, we monitor, collect, analyze, and report on conflict-related issues, incidents, and developments in 🇬🇪

EUMM's presence plays an important role in ensuring a sense of safety among local communities. 🚘Our patrols cover even the most remote areas along the ABLs, conducting daily patrols, to ensure a vigilant presence and report on relevant developments.

By preventing escalations and promoting security, our work continues to support EU efforts for peace in conflict-affected communities.

🔷 This week, @EUMMGeorgia_HoM Boughani, visited our Field Office Zugdidi. She conducted patrols to observe the security and humanitarian situation along the Abkhaz Administrative Boundary Line first-hand. 🔹 She also met with interlocutors to discuss the latest developments.

Today, we hosted a French delegation on a patrol along the South Ossetian Administrative Boundary Line. Our monitors shared first-hand insights about the security situation, and the challenges the local population faces on the ground.

Earlier this week we hosted Ambassadors of 🇱🇹 , 🇵🇱 and Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of 🇨🇭 in 🇬🇪. High-level visits allow decision-makers to assess the security situation firsthand, leading to informed decisions and better policies. @LTEmbassyGe @PLinGEORGIA

Since EUMM monitors arrived in Georgia 16 years ago, we have strongly advocated for the freedom of movement of people who live close to the ABLs. This would enable them to live more safely and secure their livelihoods

EUMM monitors play a crucial role in assessing the impact of barriers and obstacles on the freedom of movement of local communities. 🔷Our monitors conduct patrols🕒24/7 to observe those impacts, ensuring their presence close to the Administrative Boundary Lines.

🫶 Freedom of movement is key to returning to normal life for conflict-affected communities. ✔️ This week, our Zugdidi Field Office monitored the situation at the 'crossing points' with Georgia's Region of Abkhazia, supporting stability and security.

🔵 We continue to collect information about the situation on the ground through our patrols in rural areas of Georgia, near the ABLs. ✔️ These efforts strengthen the mission's ability to provide accurate and timely reports.

🔷 Our monitors from Field Office Mtskheta visited remote villages today to engage with residents. 🔹 Understanding how the conflict impacts their daily lives is a key part of our work.

🌨️ During the winter months, we conduct special patrols in vulnerable rural areas. ✔️ Where relevant, we share this information with those who have the capacity to provide needed assistance.

We continue to patrol 24/7 along the Administrative Boundary Lines. Our continuous presence fosters a sense of security for communities affected by conflict.
