It was great to present the #ESA_Envision mission and its science objectives to the large and enthusiastic Venus community at the #AGU24! Envision will provide a holistic view of Venus from its inner core to its upper atmosphere, enabling scientists to study the planets history, activity and climate. Its science data will be used to: ✔️characterize the sequence of events that formed the regional and global surface geological features and the release of internal heat over Venus's history ✔️determine how geologically active the planet is today ✔️ understand the coupling between the surface and the atmosphere at present and through time #ESA_Envision will also look for evidence of past liquid water on Venus' surface. Our mission's extensive instrument suite was also presented together with the scientific data products. The "Venus in the Next Decade" sessions were fantastic, filled with inspiring talks, poster presentations and lively discussions. With Venus shining brightly over Washington DC, the event felt truly special ✨! #AGU24 #VenusScience #SpaceExploration #ESA

Streaming from Venus 🛰️? Envision will transmit A LOT of data 📡! To make the most efficient use of the frequency spectrum, high speed data signals will be transmitted using GMSK modulation in X-band and Ka-band frequencies and will be received by the Estrack 35m stations. 📸: @esa and @Thales_Alenia_S teams are testing end to end the very high data rate transmitter that is part of the deep space transponder, allowing to send tens of megabit per second of scientific data from Venus back to Earth. #ESA_Envision #estrack #venusexploration
