An LBO of Haas? Now that's an angle. Regulatory headaches create opportunities, and this one screams distressed asset play. More than just a buyout—this is about re-controlling a critical defense & aerospace supply chain node. If you’re serious, the real move is figuring out how to reposition Haas under a compliance-forward, national security-aligned framework. Otherwise, this is just another asset flipping exercise. Timing’s perfect—question is, who makes the real power move?

This is why we need more companies like @HadrianInc and others. To drive down the cost, to increase the efficiencies and the chain supply of manufacturing parts for the industries which need it the most.

I’ve been following and commenting on your posts for a while, and this, IMHO, is your best yet. If I had to sum it up in a single word: Mastery. Robert Greene captures it perfectly in Mastery (pg. 247): "All of us have access to a higher form of intelligence—one that allows us to see more of the world, anticipate trends, and respond with speed and accuracy to any circumstance. This intelligence is cultivated by deeply immersing ourselves in a field of study and staying true to our inclinations, no matter how unconventional our approach might seem to others." Seriousness, depth, obsession—it’s all part of the path to mastery. The pace, the density, the confidence—it’s not just talent; it’s the result of relentless immersion and practice.

I’ve heard that in Cobb County, GA, as many as 1 in 7 boys are prescribed medications like Ritalin for behavioral issues. A quick search suggests the number is likely closer to 10%—still far too high. There’s so much to unpack here—the fundamental differences in how boys and girls are wired, the way teachers are trained (or pressured) to manage classrooms, and the overreliance on medication as a one-size-fits-all solution. Instead of addressing the root causes, we’ve built a system that prioritizes compliance over development. It’s not just a problem—it’s a failure of an entire system, starting with the Department of Education. An overhaul isn’t just needed—it’s overdue.

@elonmusk So basically, it’s like when the big kids say they care about sharing, but somehow, they always end up with the biggest slice of cake? Got it. 🍰😏

The first day an employee starts a job is the day you know the least about them. The same principle applies to sales, leadership, and even life: You don’t know what you don’t know. This concept isn’t just humbling—it’s powerful. When we hire someone, we see their résumé, their credentials, and their interview performance. But the reality is, these are just snapshots. Their true potential lies in what they’re capable of learning, adapting to, and achieving once they’re part of the team.

A company's aesthetic is more than just its visual appeal; it's a reflection of its culture and cohesion. What comes to mind is Apple's minimalist design or Nike's bold branding—these aren't just looks; they're IDENTITIES. A strong, genuine aesthetic is hard to fake and often signals long-term success. It's not about "vibes"; it's about vision. So how does one identify "Vision?" IF I were a VC, I'd assess a startup's vision by evaluating the founding team's unique insights into their industry, as this often indicates potential for market disruption.

Reading through the replies, the pain is real. Every presentation needs to be custom—reflecting the prospect’s environment, branding, and real-time relevance. That means content should match logos and colors, include real-time, high-quality graphics instead of generic AI stock images, and leverage generative content that can be iterated on effortlessly. There needs to be a seamless way to insert and visualize data beautifully without overcrowding slides, the ability to parse data by topic for clarity, and import capabilities from a variety of data sources. And let’s not forget the need to recycle, edit, and iterate on the fly! Copilot doesn’t do this. But @meetgamma looks promising.

@pmarca This begs the questions: In Marc Andreessen's alternate timeline axiom, what would have happened to the government if Gore had won? Do you think any of this would have materialized?

Great leaders internalize these principles: They let go of frustration, focus on what they can control, and refuse to be consumed by things outside their influence. The best way to lead—whether in business, sports, or life—is to accept the realities of the present and act decisively toward the future.

Chris, your article is both a rallying cry and a roadmap for restoring America's industrial strength. The urgency—just three years to rebuild—is a sobering reminder of how close the nation is to losing its competitive edge. What comes to mind themes from The Fourth Turning. America stands at a critical juncture where bold, decisive action can define the outcome of this era. The push for reindustrialization aligns with the transformative efforts needed during a generational crisis—one that can either reinforce national strength or further erode it. The emphasis on empowering workers, rather than replacing them with automation, is critical. Providing individuals with cutting-edge tools and meaningful work is not just about productivity; it’s about building a future-ready workforce that combines human ingenuity with technological innovation. This truly feels like a pivotal moment for the future of American manufacturing.

Microsoft is positioning itself as the 21st-century equivalent of Standard Oil and U.S. Steel combined. Think about it: they aim to dominate the data centers, the data itself, and the technology that unlocks its value. But they’re not stopping at software and IP—they’re investing heavily in tangible assets. They’ve acquired massive tracts of land and recently struck a $30 billion deal with BlackRock to co-develop nuclear energy plants. Energy is the backbone of their long-term strategy. Once you see this bigger picture, you can’t unsee it.

"‘Live as if you were living a second time, and as though you had acted wrongly the first time.’ – Viktor Frankl Frankl’s words and your quote @PalmerLuckey challenge us to embrace the fragility of life and the weight of our choices. They remind us that each moment offers an opportunity for redemption and growth. By acknowledging the finality of time, we’re inspired to act with intention, integrity, and purpose—because what we do today may well define our legacy tomorrow."

I’m not a mother, but here are some observations. From an educational perspective, we should teach parenting values in schools—highlighting the importance of caregiving and its role in shaping society. Technology can play a role too, with platforms that celebrate and support the motherhood journey. We should also emphasize the transferable skills that motherhood develops, such as leadership, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving, reframing the role as that of a “life architect.” These shifts could elevate motherhood to the high-status role it truly deserves.

@pmarca Let's certainly hope so! We have a lot of work to do and many moves on the chessboard to consider, before we arrive at the cultural equilibrium we had a the turn of the century.

In a way, these children grow up with a built-in council of advisors. They hear conversations about real life from an early age, and they observe adults navigating challenges. The result is often an innate maturity, precociousness, and a sense of responsibility that feels timeless.
