This looks amazing!
We have recently presented this poster titled "Advanced 3D Voxel Printing Techniques for Volume Electron Microscopy Data" at a conference. A few years back, we introduced a novel method for 3D printing of #volumeEM data using a novel #voxelprinting technique. Traditional 3D printing methods involves in segmenting #vEM data, extracting iso-surfaces, converting to a triangular mesh, and then slicing and printing in binary layers, which often results in a loss of detail and requires intensive polishing after printing. Voxel printing, however, prints each voxel from your image series directly, preserving much more detail and allowing any colour combination. We developed an algorithm that can convert raw #volumeEM data directly to a printable file readable by Stratasys J750 multi-colour resin printer. The print results demonstrate the capability to preserve intricate details in various applications, such as squid skin chromatophores, blood vessels in lung CT datasets, single cell osteocytes, and osteocyte networks. If you interested in printing your #volumeEM data, please get in touch with us at hello@connectomx.com
