The evidence stacks up for IPS - particularly in supporting people with mental health. You can read more about this is our evidence review, which is another good source for local leaders now grappling with delivery of a new approach

Kicking off the ERSA Conference with a key note from @Alison_McGovern. Music to my ears to hear her say “let’s start with the evidence” #ERSAConf24

I’ve shared my thoughts over on @FENews about the #GetBritainWorking White Paper, and this Government’s approach of local solutions to national problems.

This new paper argues that local governments are uniquely placed to improve the working health of their residents by engaging with employers to create healthier workplaces. 💡 It also advises on how we can bring about a locally led healthy work agenda. ⬇️

While the #GetBritainWorking white paper is about “fixing the foundations”, the government can’t stop here. We can do more. @LearnWorkUK hope to see future commitment to new forms of support, made available to everyone who can benefit from it. (6/6)

🔥I’m happy to see the new Youth Guarantee Trailblazers, trialling tailored support that matches the needs of young people in their area. Along with the 8 Trailblazers for economic inactivity, we'll have the ability to trial new approaches, and build evidence on what works (4/6)

🤝This solves half the issue with coordinated, local plans to help overcome poor coordination, engagement, and accountability. These plans will make it easier for young people to navigate a complex system and get the support available. We shouldn’t stop there though... (3/6)

With the more than 1 million young people NEET in the UK, the Youth Guarantee is the right thing to do. Getting people earning and learning puts them on the path to good work and better lives. At the moment, there’s lots of schemes, but no plan or long-term investment… (2/6)

I had the chance to bring a Kiwi perspective to this panel and share lessons on Fair Pay Agreements from the New Zealand experiment. Lots of interesting similarities between the nations but Wales will be starting with much higher union membership (14.3 vs 30%) which bodes well.

A real pleasure to chair this panel - lots of food for thought on the opportunity ahead with the devolution of (some) employment support in Wales.

Great to be at Parliament today for the @health_equals launch of the #makehealthequals Parliamentary Champions Network. Especially powerful to hear from parents about the weight they feel, knowing how health inequalities will impact their children.

📢Our research shows only one in ten out-of-work disabled people get help to find work each year. It is essential to provide effective support to disabled people to help them prepare for, get into and stay in good work. The prize is both economic and individual opportunity.(7/7)
