When you beat TotK, you get a completion percentage on the map screen and apparently korok seeds play into that so the BotW excuse for it doesn't even fly anymore. It's just a bad gimmick.

Underrated? Not really, no. It's pretty widely well regarded. It was even loved when it came out, there wasn't even a people coming around on it thing like there was with MGS2.
