I’m really beside myself this morning. I watched the scale tick down to 180 this morning and just stared for awhile in disbelief. Nothing really prepares you mentally for reaching this moment, for largely fixing the problem that led to so much insecurity and self-hatred.

I also feel the need to emphasize again and again that if I could do this, then truly anyone can. I had no idea what to do when I started at the gym last summer and I still binge eat from time to time. It's all about learning, adapting, and occasionally fighting your own body.

My journey isn’t over though. I’m aiming for around 170lbs and 15% body fat now, but it’s a pretty open-ended goal. I’ve got loose skin around my stomach & thighs to contend with and will soon have to burn a hole in my wallet buying new clothes.

i’ve started my most serious attempt ever at weight loss with some meal planning and a real gym routine! i wanted to post a starting body photo but i’m genuinely too embarassed to show myself rn so i’ll plan to post something thirsty in a few months once i’m a little less lard.
