A quick and simplified guide to move captions moving forwards. We will happily keep fun and jokes, we just want to cut down on some of the examples on the right side.
CALLING ALL COMPETITIVE
#TEKKEN
PLAYERS
Don't let Tekken 8 tech die to Discord, YT Algos, and Twitter timelines. Please RT and check out WAVU.
Wavu is active, lean and needs the support of all active Tekken players.
Please RT to spread its existence far and wide. Link Below.
We at Dustloop think that lightheartedness is part of our culture. That said, we no longer want captions that are off topic, or detract from the quality of the article. We will be asking for volunteers to help clean up captions on the site. Below are examples of bad captions.
At Dustloop, we want to not only provide the latest and best information, but also preserve Fighting Game History.
That's why we have been lovingly writing our own patch notes with exact data changes, and even listing stealth changes that ArcSys didn't tell you about.
Listen, even if Twitter goes down, Dustloop Wiki will still be up.
You can all hang out there. How about embedded IRC chatrooms in place of moveset captions?
You can all hang out under Sol 2D.
[Introduction to Team of 3]
"Break-Ins" Break-In performs a powerful special move, three in total, unique to each character.
Although only one can be used at a time, they boast relatively high damage and fast startup.

Calling all Rare Sajam Fans.
Now that Rare Sajams has been in Open Beta for a few days, we need the expertise of active Sajam chatters to fill out the NEW Dustloop pages.
If you haven't had a chance to play, or would like to help edit, check the thread for more info. 👇🧵
Now that
#rollback
is coming to Xrd, it's time for YOU to help the wiki!
Most of the knowledge for Rev2 is trapped inside character discords and google docs. We're counting on your help to bring the info into the light. YOU can help a new player learn the game!
This EVO weekend, be sure to tell your opponents “oh yeah that’s actually minus” when they fail to challenge a gap properly.
The goal at tournaments isn’t to win, but to send as many opponents as you can to the shadow realm.
NEW GUILTY GEAR WIKI IS NOW PUBLIC!! After 5 months of about 20 nerds chugging away at this, we finally did it... We got GG World, scripts, CITATIONS, galleries expanded, and a bunch of other stuff. Please check it out!!
Dustloop Feature Update!
Total Move Duration is now displayed in moves with our frame visualizer implemented.
"Is this whiff-punishable?" has never been easier to answer.
(This move is not whiff punishable)
This just in: Thanks to the hard work of our dear editors, the majority of hitboxes for P4U2 are now up on Dustloop for you to enjoy and/or complain about!
Link below!
We've moved Dustloop over to the new dedicated server and updated the DNS. It may take anywhere from 24-72 hours to fully propagate. Site admin
@shtkn
will be removing the intrusive in-between ads as well.
LET'S ROCK!!!

Dustloop has updated to the newest version of the incredible Star Citizen skin. Here's what's new:
- simplified font size and width options
- new PURE BLACK mode (perfect for Happy Chaos Mains)
- improved light theme
- lots of bug fixes
Given that this was done on a WIP page not intended for public consumption, we've flagged it as "not really that big of a deal" for those involved, with the greater issue at play being collective doomerism over smaller titles.
Here's what we're thinking of doing about it: 🧵
Do you want to get into Persona 4 Arena Ultimax now that it has Rollback Netcode? Then check out the Dustloop page for it!
We have frame data, combos, links to community discords, transparent sprites, and more!
Out of respect for the developers, we have re-categorized Xrd back into the delay netcode list now that the rollback beta has ended.
It is not our place to circumvent and undermine the beta window the developers intentionally set.
Please do not harass Shini or the developers.
Recently Dustloop Wiki has experienced a major influx in editors bringing quips and captions to the site. Jokes are fun, but the site needs to stay informative. Dustloop is becoming oversaturated with joke captions, and we ask editors to refrain for editing purely to add captions
I've been around for some time so lemme tell y'all something.
I will never fault someone for putting their energy into other spaces, but I will remind them that when the time for platform migration comes or games begin to age, a wiki avoids so many headaches.
Resources like Dustloop being not maintained in favor of character specific discords because certain people want clout is one of the worst things. i hate the replacement of forums and good wikis for discords
Just as an FYI to all curious Rivals players: sister-site Dragdown Wiki has a Rivals of Aether II page up and in-progress.
Keep an eye on it for tech, guides, data, and breakdowns.
Feel free to RT to spread awareness.
rivals 2 is gonna have some form of web tutorials and resources (including a full wiki) implemented as a part of the main menu with the demo and the full release in the interim before full in-game playable tutorials
hell yea dude !!!
Are you a fan of Super Smash Bros? Do you want a Dustloop for them? Then check out the wikis for Smash Ultimate and Melee today! Ultimate is on Dragdown

Dustloop December News: Magical Girls Edition
Someone has been caught editing the Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S: Jougai Rantou!? Shuyaku Soudatsusen pages.
"Increased Recovery" is some wishy-washy ArcSys hoo-hah. Dustloop has the REAL numbers thanks to some volunteer editors.
Let's take a moment to appreciate our highly dedicated editors who have been rapidly updating information for Strive, P4U2.5, and GBVS this past week.
This is record breaking pace for us. Never before have we had such a dedicated and talented base of volunteers.
A hitbox viewer and render creation kit is now available for DNF: Duel. Built by
@nchJoJo
,
@bearhugprime
, and
@WistfulHopes
. We will roll out hitbox images and transparent renders soon.
Availability of the viewer currently limited while bugs are resolved.
For +R we are moving hitbox images. You will be able to toggle between them with the Images/Hitboxes tab.
Note: we don't have hitboxes for all moves, this is purely just improving presentation of the ones we have.
We're launching a YouTube channel to help people get into editing FGC wikis! Contributors are planning to making wiki-editing guides, and back-up videos on this channel. We're going to keep doing our best for the scene!
You might be experiencing this right now... a veteran demon in your
#FGC
circle is contemplating how best to destroy you nightly, making it difficult to surpass them.
Be proud of that.
You can now sign up for an account on SuperCombo Wiki directly on the site! New accounts must wait 12 hours before being able to edit.

We have an exclusive look at 2 new characters today!
Sin Kiske in GGST
TRUNKS (dark DARK) in DBFZ
Special thanks to my uncle who works at Nintendo for the early access.
I love complaining about fighting games. I have personally complained about DNF Duel from my comfortable armchair since Open Beta. Mostly about netplay. I am compelled by a dark urge.
Just keep it off the wiki, please.
Love,
Krack.
"But Dustloop, isn't this just some shitty twitch-chat-enabled card game?"
Listen, we love to support games made by and for the community.
Stop being a snide little jerk and go outside.
Some of you may have noticed an experimental feature that charts frame data as timelines. These charts are now an optional, opt-in feature. If you want to see them, click the "Toggle Chart On" Button at the top of a character's move list, right next to the key.
- A small Code of Conduct change telling people to give WIP the same respect they treat public facing pages.
- Asking memers and peanut gallery doomers to please use F12 and Inspect when they want to shitpost. It's very easy to do.
- Say "Please don't do this." to a few people.
The wiki is more or less ready to go, but we're missing a lot of key Sajams and Venues.
Templates are available on their respective pages here:
If you'd like to help edit, please check out our Discord.
With the release of the massive Season 2 update for Strive comes an equally massive amount of work for our volunteer contributors.
Please have patience with us while we bring the wiki up to date with the newest content.
Discord and Google Docs for coordination, Youtube and Twitter for awareness, Wikis for long-term storage of everyone's collective efforts.
This is the holy trinity of fighting game documentation.
Dustloop Tip of the Day:
Do you want to make a personalized guide, but don't want to use google docs or gitbooks?
Every user on Dustloop has the freedom to create personalized pages in their user space! You can integrate all the cool features of DLW into your personal document.
We have started updating frame data for P4U2.5, please be patient with us as it will likely take multiple weeks to complete.
Currently, we have updated values for Aigis, Akihiko, Chie, and Yu
As always if you find any errors, please contact us and we will investigate, thank you.
Usually when stuff like this happens, it's a failure of site-wide policy, which our plucky team of volunteers review and revise after particularly catastrophic tweets or really obnoxious captions.
Attn: Sin Kiske Dustloop Gamers
Sin's page is in active, live development by volunteers just like you... but with every new character page, it does take time to populate.
Data will make its way to our tables, and little bits of hee ho will come and go. Let's enjoy it together.
It’s great that we have such a diverse selection of fighting games.
You have such a wide selection when it comes to execution and accessibility.
Thanks to rollback, it’s so easy for old games to maintain relevancy. They can be shared and appreciated forever.
NomadNoah has built the most comprehensive combo guide for Venom to date!
If you've ever had interest in learning +R Venom, there's no better time than now.
For the first time since 2018, we are opening wide account creation on Dustloop! No more google forms or getting an admin to manually create your account for you. We look forwards to all the new editors, especially with DNFD coming soon! Please don't make us regret it.
Lately, some people have been upset about flavor text captions on Dustloop.
Rest assured, there's no systematic attack on fun. Volunteers are just trying their best to make clean, informative, and easily skim-able pages!
Please don't hate on any particular editors for this.
We're making progress on the overhaul. We greatly appreciate your patience. We're going to have to slow down the pace, though, because our admin is about to keel over from over-working himself.
We come with good news! Dustloop is back up from our, longer than expected, downtime.
The error 500 issue should, hopefully, be solved, and now the wiki should support short URL as well.
Invalidvalue was one of the most active editors for the Guilty Gear -Strive- Dustloop and made huge contributions over the last year. We are deeply hurt by this loss, and offer our condolences to their friends and family.
TW // suicide
The moderation team of the Nagoriyuki Discord Server have reason to believe that
@InvalidValue
has taken his life. For more information, please read the attached Pastebin.
We greatly mourn his loss.
The wiki is currently being updated to work with a new improved skin we have in the works. This will take some time - probably days or weeks.
In the meantime, some things will look strange, and the mobile site will not work correctly.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
The optimal tech for group work atm is to coordinate in whatever discord you like and then move it to a wiki when you think it's good enough.
That second step can be a big ask if people are busy living their life or if starfield comes out.
We've been slowly adding small move summaries to the gatling tables for each game. Mouse over each move on the left side of the table. GGST, BBTag, and BBCF currently have it. We'll be adding this to +R and Xrd
we now have dark mode!
click the Dark Mode link next to the Log In link (top right of page on desktop, near bottom of page on mobile)
thanks to
@shiburizu
for showing us how to set it up!
With the upcoming patch for Strive, please be patient with us as we update information. Creating new hitbox images, calculating frame data changes, and discovering new properties is very involved and we won't be able to ensure everything is updated immediately.
This is a good reason to use our Resource Dump pages for your FGC tech, and to write your guides on our user pages instead of google docs.
All the data, templates, and preservation of Dustloop, but for guides YOU write.
If you want a picture of the future of internet search, imagine a link which says the answer is on the discord and the link takes you to this - everywhere about everything forever.
We're working hard on making the transition. Our 3 volunteers have spent every waking hour of their weekends chugging away at it. No exaggeration.
We appreciate your continued patience.
Currently, our main page is organized by (official) netcode with rollback games at the top of the list.
With P4U getting rollback soon, and DNFD releasing with rollback, this will look ugly.
Any suggestions on how to sort the games now that rollback is more common?
What a surprise! We've received hitbox images for nearly all attacks in BBTag from Monkey (apologies, don't know your Twitter @)!
They will be slowly added to the wiki. Today we've added hitboxes for Celica, Es, and Hakumen
The upgrade we performed last night brought a lot of very important bug fixes to the site!
But it also broke the code we use to manage the mobile layout for the site. It's going to be a monumental amount of work to fix it, so please be patient with our limited programming team.
