I was the first person in my family to go to university and moved halfway across the country to do it. It wasn’t always smooth, but I graduated from Queen’s University before I moved to Ottawa. There I eventually took a job with the NDP to fight for what I believe in: people.

It’s not a purchase that would’ve been possible without help from extended family. It’s a privilege, one I didn’t always have and I know most people today don’t have access to. The gap between the haves and have nots is widening and more and more people are struggling to get by.
