“Predators also enjoy taking on those that try and expose them who are usually people committed to fairness”. Are you targeted by a sicko? Or several? This 👇woman’s work is insightful and helpful!
Tragically, people targeted by dark personalities/predators are often targeted by more than one. This may have the effect of making the target seem somehow at fault or ‘weird’ because who has several dark personalities after them? Multiple targeting occurs because predators look for the same features in their prey. They look for people who are kind, well-intentioned, truthful, & often hard-working, people who can be manipulated or controlled more easily. They also must have a vulnerability of some type, such as the recent death of a loved one or an abusive upbringing. Predators also enjoy taking on those that try and expose them who are usually people committed to fairness and they also often target people who have resources that can be exploited. So if you are well-intentioned, kind, truthful, hard-working, have fairness as a value, have resources and have some sort of vulnerability, I’d read up on red flags for dark personalities as a matter of urgency!

@kittyhundal These people must be exposed for the damage they perpetrate on people, institutions, and systems. Agree, #15 is a big problem & can happen quickly. Beware with political and institutional leadership transitions. It’s a ripe environment for the predatory narc/DP.

If you hold them accountable or expose them, you become a target. Dr. Mitchell’s research is so timely and relevant. Stay strong and keep good records! Personally, I journal so the dirty deeds are tracked.
How do toxic leaders, including narcissists, psychopaths, and Machiavellians, behave in workplaces… - they intimidate and create fear. - they promise resources and remove them if the target does not comply. - they are exceptionally respectful and make themselves irreplaceable to those with power. - they take credit for others’ work. - they publicly demean and humiliate their targets. - they bully. - they may create problems so they can be credited with resolving them. - they play favourites and pit people against each other. - they may project an image of benevolent, friendly or engaging. - they have particularly high expectations of others and put people at risk. - they may give targets the silent treatment. - they actively nurture relationships with individuals who they maintain as ‘spies’ to feed them information. - they may speak, dress or behave inappropriately regarding issues associated with sexuality or relationships. - they clandestinely break laws, rules, regulations, codes and agreements. - they lie about people, about business issues, about themselves. - they manipulate people to inadvertently disadvantage others while creating false narrative that keeps people apart so the truth is never realised. - they destroy anyone who may try and expose them. - they often have a ‘partner henchman’, a very closely aligned colleague who is powerfully aligned with and supportive of them. Can you add others you have experienced?
