Here is a letter we put together 18 months ago asking Jim Chalmers to exempt the $240m from GST calculations. Every Federal Tasmanian MP signed this except our Labor reps. They were never keen to do this and had to be brought kicking and screaming to this outcome.

Jim Chalmers has hoodwinked Tasmanians. This letter from Sept 2023 shows every Federal MP across the state asked for an $240m GST exemption for the Hobart stadium, on top of state gvt advocacy. Everyone bar Labor MPs who sided with Canberra all along, not Tasmania #politas

How ridiculous. It's one thing saying that you support salmon workers, it's another actually getting your Environment Minister to guarantee that she won't gut the community of Strahan. Labor are the ones selling out to extreme activists. Do something about it.

Tanya Plibersekā€™s empty media release following the environment ministersā€™ meeting today is all spin, no substance. In more than two years as Minister she has achieved nothing and still has no idea what to do except to try to blame the Coalition for her own inaction.

While youā€™re busy paying your sky-high power bill and filling up at the bowser at $2 per litre, your Environment Minister is sending Union halls to UNESCO for world heritage approval #priorities

Weā€™ve just added Victorian Trades Hall to the National Heritage list - to recognise and protect this important piece of history. Plus, weā€™re supporting its nomination for World Heritage.

Cā€™mon. Letā€™s be real about this. August of last year (4 mths after election) we had science telling us we had 36 year record coral cover on the reef. If anyone believes that Labor have single handedly have saved the reef in 15 months, think again.

BREAKING: Overnight, UNESCO released a draft decision to not list the Great Barrier Reef as ā€˜in dangerā€™. This shows that the action our government is taking on climate change and protecting the Great Barrier Reef is making a real difference ā€“ and the world has noticed.

I wonder if Tasmanian Labor will call on Dan Andrews to reverse his decision to shut down Victoriaā€™s timber industry which is why theyā€™re coming to Tasmania to buy our timber!?

Hey Gill, hereā€™s an idea: just give Tassie a team. Joint media release with federal colleagues.

In case @bec_white missed the memo - Cradle Mt is a world heritage site. This is a complex project. Takes time. Federal Labor trying to take the $ away with their arbitrary deadline! Stand up for Tas Bec and demand your Fed colleagues extend the deadline!

@AUSenator It will take leadership to ensure that funding is is provided. Laborā€™s April deadline must be extended for this complex project so Tasmania doesnā€™t miss out on its already promised funding.

I donā€™t think itā€™s appropriate that Libraries Tasmania should be hosting an event that exposes 2 to 5 year olds to adult entertainers.

@DeanWinterMP just stopped laughing at your press release this morning. Iā€™ve come to a position by myself - Iā€™m pretty sure @TasmanianLabor want to have a taxpayer funded referendum to work out their position on a stadium! Real leadership. Nice try Deano.šŸ˜‚

It was great to catch up with Mike O'Loughlin on Tas Talks this morning to talk about backing jobs in Tassieā€™s mining industry, Aus Postā€™s commitment to shipping perishable goods & our Govtā€™s $260.9m International Freight Assistance Mechanism extension.

The Aus Govt has committed $260m to extend the International Freight Assistance Mechanism to 30 June 2022, taking our total commitment to over $1b. This means fisheries & aquaculture producers can continue to access international markets, despite difficulties presented by COVID.
