My aunt dated Yo-yo Ma when they were at Julliard. (She was his 1st gf.) They've remained close friends since. I've met Yo-yo, but never with my aunt there. He treated me like close family, he remembered my mother's name & silly things I said to him when I was 10. He's a real 1.

We were finally able to have a funeral for my mother today, on the first anniversary of her death. I never thought I'd be so glad to gather, mourn my mother's death, and talk share about her life. It was beautiful and gave our grief the punctuation we've longed for.
