The only good thing to come out of 2023 was a realisation that the systemic issues in Aussie rugby could no longer be ignored.
I don’t feel sorry for Aus. They’re too proud a rugby country to want sympathy or condescension from us.
What I will say is that Eddie Jones really stuffed that side around. Played games with their best players and did little to advance their game. Schmidt has a tough job.
