I'm a General Dentist by profession. Practicing at the beautiful Swat Valley.
Pakistan
Joined October 2012
I'm Dr. Muhammad Sohail Khan, a graduate of LCMD - Liaquat College of Medicine and Dentistry (Batch of 2014-18). My journey into BDS started with an interview for an MBBS seat at a private institute. Before talking about this let me trace back the history. Since childhood, I wanted to be a Doctor & obviously I wanted to study MBBS (BDS wasn't an option for me). Unfortunately, I wasn't a high scorer in my intermediate which rendered me ineligible for a seat at public colleges. This forced me to try my luck in private medical schools. To my surprise, I did get called for interviews from 2 private institutes. The previous mentioned interview was for the MBBS program. During the interview, one of the panelists inquired why I hadn't opted for BDS? He gave his insights for the BDS program & ended up pursuading me for the BDS program. Those insights led me onto a crossroads, where I had to choose the path destined for me. I requested time to ponder over the newfound option, as I was clueless about dentistry. This certainly wasn't an easy task as I thought it would be. It was a close calling, being selected for both the Medicine and Dentistry programs. I wasn't keen on letting my childhood dream of becoming a doctor slip away from my hand, as dentistry seemed like a foreign land. At the end I let destiny guide me, and finally opted for the Dental program. The factors I considered when making the choice were: lack of saturation, scope, respect, less stressful life compared to medical doctors, and many more aspects. Alhamdulillah, I'm proud to owe upto my decision of becoming a Dentist. As life isn't always a bed of roses, neither is the profession that you choose. Dentistry is all about commitment & hard work. This is a skills based profession, that requires the clinician, to consistently brush up and polish on one's clinical skills time and time again. As a student, I used to attend different seminars, workshops & conferences. This has helped me to build a network & gain even more insights about Dentistry. During my housejob, I was involved with multiple observerships and attachments at clinics. This made me assist and learn from the best clinicians around. I ended up picking up certain tips and tricks my mentors used that weren't always taught by the books. Currently, I'm practicing as a General Dentist in the beautiful valley of Swat. I established my practice with the name of The Dental Studio. I'm ambitious & goal driven. I aspire for an inspirational & innovative dental community. In the end, I would say practice as much as you can, learn as much as you can, attend courses/seminars/workshops, read articles, attend dental exhibitions, use new materials & techniques, and do not hesitate asking for help from specialists and seniors, you learn the most from them. "STAY POSITIVE & KEEP SMILING". β€π¦· (If you have any questions for me, kindly comment it down or inbox me).

@elonmusk I wonder why Pakistan isn't on the list. Here, it's available OTC, and almost every second person is taking it.
