It is said that "If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together." Networking & bridge-building are key to going far in academic medicine. Here I share some lessons learned along the way.. @SocietyGIM

Amazing Grand Rounds today with @WesElyMD, reminding us why we do what we do & the importance of compassion and humanity in our daily work. “Each person is a world.” So, let us “shed our doctors’ skin and be wholly human”, connecting with our patients as human to human.

Just completed a stretch on the wards & got to work with some FABULOUS residents, interns & #medicalstudents! Together, we took care of our patients, learned a lot & had fun! What a privilege it is to be in #AcademicMedicine! It never gets old! @DellMedIMres @DellMedSchool

I seem to get some of my best work ideas when I’m furthest away from work…🤔 Unplugged, on a walk. Or on a flight. 2 of my recent perspective pieces were written on a plane while traveling this summer… Distance feeds creativity. 💡 #GetUnstuck

@rbganatra This is a great table. Nowadays, though, GLP-1 agonist induced gastroparesis probably tops the list of etiologies. (The only thing is that it doesn’t totally fit with this list since it’s not a “disorder” per se, but must be considered nevertheless.)

Pleased to share our article on “asset-framing”, a new concept in medical education. As #MedEd leaders, we need to move from deficit-framing to asset-framing. Asset framing defines learners by their aspirations & strengths, not by their challenges. 👉
Delighted to have an engaged audience of educational leaders at our @SocietyGIM workshop: “Asset Framing: A Tool for Enhanced Equity in Feedback & Assessment” We also look forward to sharing our article on this topic soon! #SGIM24

Superb Grand Rounds today by Dr. Mustafa Abdul-Moheeth! He observed tens of teaching rounds. 2 main insights: 1️⃣ Resident Satisfaction = Completed Work + “Feeling that I learned something new” 2️⃣Attendings are the primary “curators” of the rounding experience. #MedEd
