#Chickpeas come in 2 types - the Garbanzo (a.k.a Kabuli) seeds are lighter than the Kala, the darker smaller-seeded. The 2nd type has more fiber, less starch & more mineral #nutrition.

I appreciate the beauty of the #Lilies, but was first introduced to them years ago in a cytology class for visualizing their chromosomes. They are great models to study the #biochemistry of floral #volatiles as well.

Sugars accumulated in fruits usually have 6 carbons, but #avocado accumulates 7-carbon sugars (mannoheptuloses & derivatives)! Their relevance needs more research.

While all #vegetables are good for you, some like these sweet potatoes are easy to grow, can be cooked in boiling water in 10 min & can be snacked with no additives! Really cool! @horticulture @food
