JUST IN: Rep. Jasmine Crockett completely loses it after Scott Jennings calls out DEI in the LAFD, claims black women are the most educated people in America. Crockett started making random comments like how her ancestors built the White House. “The last time I checked y'all didn't say that anything was wrong with the White House. And I can promise you it was my ancestors that built the White House.” “The fact is, stop trying to act as if only white men are the ones that are capable. Because right now you sitting at a table with three very capable black women.”

Non HBCUs seeking to have programs for HBCUs should consider joint faculty appointments or shared resources. HBCUs are very capable of preparing their students. Find sustainable ways to partner. Advocate for more funding to HBCUs.

Not sure who needs to hear this, but it’s ok to say no and step back from some professional opportunities when life slaps you hard. It doesn’t make you weak, or less of a leader. Give yourself grace. Other opps will be there when you are ready.
